Decent Place for a Broke Law Student

I moved to Arlington from out of state for law school and really really struggled finding a place for rent where I would pay less than $2,500/month. Lee Heights Apartments was one of the few options I found.

However, utilities are not included in rent. So by the time you add in internet, gas, electric, water, etc. you're looking at about $2,000 per month.

Location wise, it's very convenient for Scalia Law students. It's about a five minute drive to campus. And if you like to take the bus around, there is a bus stop right across the street from the apartment building.

The building is nothing fancy. There are no amenities besides laundry (which you have to pay for and there are only three machines) and a parking lot (which is free). The apartment itself is okay. Again nothing fancy. The area is very safe, which is a big plus. In the three years I've lived here, I have never had any issues with fellow residents or people in the neighborhood. And even though parking is just in a surface lot, there have never been any break-ins or sketchy activity in the parking lot.

I have had problems with management living here (for example, not being able to get in touch with anyone when I've had noise complaints with neighbors or when trying to renew my lease). But the property just switched management companies so it's been getting better.

If you have limited income and are just looking for a place that's safe and has the bare necessities, this is a good place for you.
