Bloomfield

Pittsburgh's "Little Italy"
Bloomfield, also knows as Pittsburgh's "Little Italy", is a neighborhood that prides itself on its history and middle-class workers. As most Little Italy's do, it offers top-notch restaurants that includes Angelo's, Alexander's Italian Bistro, and Tessaro's. Renters here love the area because it's extremely walkable, safe, and catching public transit via the bus is easy since it runs down Liberty Ave, the main street in this neighborhood.

The Bloomfield Bridge connects the area to UPitt & Carnegie Mellon in Oakland, which has made this neighborhood popular for students. Besides being close to campus, its colorful shops and tight-knit community are a few of the many reasons renters love it here.

Bloomfield — 9.2/10 Rating (based on 6 neighborhood reviews)
Quite. Neighborly. No fighting for street parking late at night. Very walkable, great for evening strolls after work. Walking distance to some nice bars and restaurants, though less in quantity compared to other neighborhoods, made up for plenty by quality and family-like experiences.

Fun area, lots of locals and an up and coming restaurant scene. They have a farmers market two blocks away from the apartment every Saturday in the Spring through fall.
