Irvine is one of the best places to live in the States. Very well planned city. Most importantly, it feels safe here. When it comes to travel, public transport could be a bit of a hassle. But you can travel by OC bus or Anteater express. If you live on campus, you don't need to worry about travel as most schools are nearby.

Mostly graduate students, some with families and pets. There is a neighborhood right behind the complex which is nice to run through. The neighborhood is primarily faculty housing. There is a big church close by that offers a farmers market every Saturday morning, also walkable. It can get noisy with children playing outside where I live, so be mindful of that.

The University town center is good, lots of fast food restaurants and the headquarters to In n' Out burger. UTC has a post office, FedEx, Amazon store, Insomnia cookies and much more. There is also a target, trader joe's and Eureka bar/restaurant for mingling with friends. Some things are pricey but if your smart with your finances and are willing to just outside of the area you can save money. Quick tip if you shop often at target get a target card it will save you 5% on everything and they add up.

I love being so close to Diamond Jamboree and the District. Also only 1 traffic light away from the 405 which is very convenient. I like that the property is tucked away a tiny bit off Jamboree so it is more quiet and doesn't deal with the traffic of the main road.

Its not that the neighborhood isn't family friendly, its just that most people who live here are working professionals. There aren't that many children around.

PROS:

-Safe neighborhood.
-Nearby affordable gas station that's 24 hours.
-Nearby restaurants, stores.
-Disneyland 2 miles away from the apartment complex.
-Kid/Pet friendly neighborhood

CONS:
-It can be quiet noisy when there is an event happening late at night by Anaheim Angels Stadium- cheering/music/monster truck rallies/blaring noises from cars/trucks from parking lots. -Sometimes there is an influx of homeless in the area, but they don't really bother much.

Verano is pretty quiet in a good way. Lots of parents on walks with their kids (and dogs) at night, there's a cool community garden where you can get in on a shared plot, and it's pretty convenient to the ARC and to UCI.

Important distinction: New Verano, Old Verano, and even older Verano - New Verano (4 story apartments) is the most expensive and utilities are not included. Old Verano (2 story townhouses) included utilities, as does older Verano (2 story apartments) ,which is the closest to campus and the most affordable. NONE of the units in Verano have air-conditioning.

I do like the neighborhood, it can be rough in that it's on a main street, cars go very fast, it's between two low budget motels, and not far from the railroad tracks, so thanks to apartment complexes like this charging so much for rent, we have a lot of people who are living in the streets or in their cars. We are close to target, aldi, within walking distance, and Ralphs, Stater Bros, and Northgate are all within a 2-3 mile drive. There are also a lot of great hole in the wall affordable restaurants. Unfortunately there are luxury type apartments nearby which probably means prices will be going up even higher.

The Royce Park Place
*Area is safe due to many attractions and venus that are by here (ie: Disneyland, Anaheim Stadium, etc).

*Being that the only thing that's really expensive in LA is gas, I'm grateful to live right by the Arco gas station: great for affordable gas!

*Tons of eateries in the area within walking distance, total PLUS.

*There is somewhat a bit of noise pollution in the area, again...due to the venues that are in the area. Cars honking; loud chatter/yelling.

*Wish there were stores like CVS/Wahlgreens/Rite Aide nearby, this would TOP the neighborhood! Again, being from NYC where everything is convenient, those stores with pharmacies would be awesome! However I understand the need to drive everywhere in LA as well.

I am close to campus and the ARC, and in a safe area. I am one of the farthest from campus, though, so my walk is about 15 minutes. I pay utilities, which is not the same for Verano people. I also have a new apartment with paper-thin walls and spend an extra $120 a month on rent compared to the others who also have a 2 bedroom, 1 bath floor plan and are not in the "new buildings".

Terrace Apartments is in Orange but closer to the Anaheim border. It’s a $7 Uber to Disneyland, and the complex is right next door to the Orange Outlet Mall. There’s a few bars and breweries in the Orange area, but aside from the outlet mall, nothing is really in walking distance.

The neighborhood is great because the hospital and the outlets are right across the street. With that said, the neighborhood can be a little unsafe after 7 pm and there have been cases of people breaking into cars and stealing in the amli parking lot.
