Downtown
Vibrant Destination for those Seeking to Experience the Essence of the City
Arizona State University is located right in the heart of the state capital's city. Downtown provides unlimited options for restaurants, bars, entertainment and more! This area includes mostly high-rise buildings and is filled with students and young professionals. Among the skyline you will find a distinct copper dome known as the Arizona State Capitol building referencing Arizona's mining heritage. Arts and Culture thrive in Downtown with attractions like, the Phoenix Art Museum that showcases an impressive collection of art from around the world, the Heard Museum offers a comprehensive look at the history and culture of Native American peoples and the Herberger Theater Center hosts a variety of theatrical and musical performances.
If sports are more your thing, the area is also home to major sports venues such as the Chase Field, where the Arizona Diamondbacks play baseball, and the Footprint Center, home to the Phoenix Suns basketball team. Public spaces like Civic Space Park and Margaret T. Hance Park provide outdoor space for all sorts of fun activities. The Valley Metro Light Rail system runs through downtown, making it convenient to explore everything Phoenix has to offer without needing a car. It is a hub for foodies with diverse options, check out Chico Malo for brunch or SoSoBa for a late night meal.

Roosevelt Arts District is awesome, it's close to everything, and there are great bars, restaurants, and coffee shops. I'm a 15 minute walk from campus. I feel much safer in this part of downtown than in other areas, because there are always lots of people out and about.

This is a great location to live in. There are a lot of bars and restaurants nearby, and it's close enough to schools and other downtown locations that are worth visiting. It's also right off the 10, and you can easily travel anywhere in the Valley.

The proximity to school is very convenient and there are plenty of bars/restaurants in walking distance. The density of students who live here is also really nice because you'll always have peers to socialize with nearby.

It’s safe, fairly nice. Some homeless people around, but I’ve only had positive interactions with them. Park nearby, coffee shop right next door, some solid places to eat, plenty of street parking.

It's downtown so not really a college scene, but there are some things to do and plenty of areas to eat. Great transit system.

Tons of construction but also walkable to ASU Law and the downtown campus which was most important to me. Can also walk to lots of bars and restaurants and is close to the grocery store and a dog park.

Everything is pretty nice and walkable around here. The Saturday farmer's market is a great option. There are a ton of resturaunts around and usually a good amount of foot traffic. The only downside is that the crosswalks in Phoneix take forever to change and don't have shade. Walking even a few blocks to school is rough.

Fun, lots of new places, breweries, restaurants, bars, etc. Very young. First Fridays are the worst if you live in this area, because you can't get to your apartment with road closures.

Very convenient for travel purposes. Restaurants and bars are all within walking distance. Fry's grocery store is right beside the building as well. There is always security walking the block outside. But, it can sometimes be noisy on weekend because of the bars.

I like that the building is right by a park because the greenery is a nice change of scenarios. Roosevelt Square is also within walking/biking distance from the law building which is great. I also think that the building feels pretty safe.

Lots of new apartment complexes, restaurants, and outdoor space. Some homeless people, but not enough to make me feel very uncomfortable as a woman living alone. Overall a safe, cute, and entertaining neighborhood.

We went out one night and there were lots of young people out at the bars and restaurants. There is a nice park behind the building and a coffee shop just down the block.

I really like this neighborhood. It's located in a nice, central location that is close to a lot of restaurants/bars and in great walking distance from the law school. The light rail is also only a couple of blocks away. The one down side is that there's a decent amount of ongoing construction, so that creates noise from time to time. And nearby bars also can get a bit noisy on weekends, but it's not too bad if you keep your windows closed.
