Impressed with amenities
2024 will be my second year at Blu on Farrington. I am impressed with renovated gym. Their gym was lacking before for the size of the community, but they have corrected that, My apartment has a nice entry leading into the living space. Bedrooms fit a full size bed comfortably. Bathrooms are a great size with a narrow linen closet. I have an island in the kitchen.
Great place to live with minimal issues
Overall, my experience has been good! We have had a few problems with the leasing office and I can hear my upstairs neighbor a lot, but overall, I am pleased with the space.
Spacious Complex 10 Minuets from Campus
I have really enjoyed living in the complex due to its close proximity to campus, size of apartment, and quietness of the community. The pool and gym and both very nice and clean. I would recommend this complex to all students as it has a nice mix of ages and families.
so meh
This place is not worth the rent price. If you move not in the summer, you get a better rent deal. However, the staff is slow to respond. We had our fridge go out for over a day before it was fixed and we had to throw away our food. We were without our mail keys for almost 2 months, and now that we have the mail keys I know that they have mail issues all the time (we are not notified of mailing, and mail is often misplaced). When we first moved in, they didn't want to fix any problems we had (dirty floors and patio, dead frog in the window, shower wouldn't turn on), and it turns out it was because they didn't have a copy of our key. So then they needed my keys for a day and I just avoided having to go home in the meanwhile. Gym is often overcrowded before school and right after work hours. The "free" printer is a straight Lie with a capital L. There were a few car break-ins a few months ago. They decreased rent about $400 from summer to winter, and they offered it to us if we would sign on for another 14 months. So I'm just waiting it out. I think it would be fine if you have a good rent deal. The place itself is nice. Maintenance is the best part about this place, they are so kind and helpful.
Excellent experience!
This is a very safe place for a woman to live alone!!!!!!!!! Lovely apartment, less than 10 min drive to the law school, and great amenities. It feels like living at a country club. Charming outdoor mall across the street with fun restaurants and stores.
General Review
Fantastic building, great pool, really love the open floor plans, and new kitchen appliances.
Also give a nice first month's rent discount for UNC Students.
Great
Great apartment and very safe. A little pricey for what you're getting, but updated and good management.
Great Spot
Really nice apartment with great amenities. Parking is easy and the gym works. Haven’t had any issues with management. Maintenance is responsive when called upon. Community events once or twice a month are also nice. The pool area is great. Love the location. About 15min drive to campus with traffic.
Blu on Farrington
The apartment is nice but not very spacious for $1,650 a month. Management is wonderful and plans many great events for the complex. The gym is small but usable. The pool area is very nice. It is not located close to Franklin St. so the social aspect is lacking but that's not a huge deal with Uber/Lyft. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Quick Explination
Emotional support animals only. Friendly neighbors, and high walkability score. All stores and restaurants are close. 2 beautiful churches also close for those who are Catholic! Maintain e is always on top of their game, and are super helpful. Apartments are updated and beautiful! Pool is also awesome in the summer!
Love the apt layout, the well-kept grounds, and the staff
I love living here! The apartment layout is spacious and functional with lots of storage. The unit is also well updated - it was freshly painted when we moved in, and has stainless steel kitchen appliances, granite countertops, and huge garden tubs in the bathrooms. The many windows in the open floorplan let lots of light into the common areas. Aside from an occasional spider, we haven't had any pest issues.
We haven't had any maintenance issues other than asking some questions about the air filter, and they came promptly and explained everything in detail and changed the filter out early for us. The front office staff are friendly and always hosting events for residents. The clubhouse is great - I love going in there to read or for free coffee. And the pool is nice even though it's not open year round. The property grounds are kept beautiful as well. Rules are enforced, so all the neighbors are respectful and I haven't had any issues like pet waste not being picked up or loud neighbors. This has been the best apartment I've lived in by far.
The only negative would be the neighborhood. Although you're conveniently located a short drive from Southpoint and Chapel Hill, the complex isn't right next to much. There's one shopping center with some restaurants and a couple gas stations at the end of the block, but everything else is 5-10 minutes away. Not a big deal, but just something to be aware of ahead of time. There is also construction next door (a new apartment complex is going up) but there hasn't been much noise or traffic disruption, so it's been fine so far.
Great place to live
Very pet friendly and quick to respond to service requests! On the expensive side but feels very safe. Apartment feels roomy and the community has plenty of parking spots and good management.
James River at Stony Point Review
Love living here!
Quiet place to live near campus.
I have really enjoyed living at James River at Stony Point. There is a nice mix of younger and older residents. It is an easy 10-minute drive to campus and close to other Richmond neighborhoods. The apartments are spacious and were super clean when I moved in. The property in general (i.e., pool, gym, etc.) is well-maintained.
Very Nice but terribly managed
New & beautiful, but management is unprofessional and day to day operations & lease related issues are lacking
