Great Experience
Overall, Orleans station has been amazing with new apartments, a great pool, and a bunch of UTHSC students living in the apartments. The apartments are also really soundproofed. The complex is safe, however, there have been small issues with maintenance being slow. The noise from construction and ambulance sirens is pretty loud too.
South Junction
I’ve been living on my own here since June 2022 and have not encountered any situations where I felt uncomfortable. There’s a courtesy police officer that lives at the apartment police for any non-emergent help. I feel very safe and my needs are accommodated for at an appropriate time.
Complex is updated, gated, and close commute to UTHSC
My experience was good and convenient. The commute to campus is less than 10 minutes and it's next to Loflin Yard. Anytime a maintenance request was put in, I was notified that it was submitted, then who was assigned, and when it was completed.
Downsides are there is no guest parking, you have to go thru Xfinity and MLGW, and plus/minus is near downtown (very close to South Main).
I LOVE IT HERE
South Line
I have thoroughly enjoyed living at Southline. I think the management team is great, as are the maintenance staff who have continuously resolved any issues that arise in a timely manner. My rent is a bit higher for a 1bd because I have the bedroom + flex space (i.e., an additional room I use as a home study room/office). I also like that the area it is located in is safe, near businesses, South Main (trolley nights!), farmers market, etc. My only complaint about the complex would be the inability to get guest parking passes when people visit (they must park street-side outside the gate). 10/10.
South Bluffs
Love it! Very safe and connected to river walk
Noisy but otherwise good
It is right next to the train tracks which can be super loud. Some of the buildings close to loflin yard can be noisy on weekend nights. People like to race loud cars on the street that heads to downtown. Other than the noise apartment overall was good. They did not do a good job cleaning the place before I moved in.
Great Apartments!
I have loved living at South Junction. Our apartment is very airy and updated with lots of natural lighting and huge closets. The gym is great and there are nice outdoor areas and pools for tenants to use. No complaints!
10/10 recommend
Excellent! Great amenities, friendly staff, nice and modern apartment at an affordable and great-for-value price!
new with its pros and cons
So far my experience at Orleans Station has been great! The management is extremely responsive and helpful. The only downsides at the moment are that there is still a lot of construction and the noises from ambulance/police can be loud at times. My roommate and I both walk to class because we are so close to campus (the parking garage for students is directly across the street) and there are also quite a few restaurants close by with more on the way soon.
Love this place
I have had no trouble with the complex or management. It is under construction but it has not affected me.
South Junction apartments
I lived at South Junction for a year. I was close to the medical district, which was convenient for class and work. It is also close to downtown, which made it easy to go to Grizzlies games or try new restaurants. The apartment itself felt safe to me as they sometimes had security patrol, but the area around the apartments is a little sketchy. Management was very attentive when we had issues and maintenance was great as well. It was noisy, both because of other tenants as well as being in a city. Trains constantly pass by, so that was a little loud.
Orleans Station
This place is brand new so it's really nice. If you ask for something to be fixed it is fixed within a week. Oh, and when it cools down, it is an easy less than 10-minute straight walk to the building and the campus gym is across the street so I also walk. You have a very large space, own washer and dryer inside the closet, a bedroom fit for a queen bed and desk, large windows, a large kitchen, and more storage than needed which is nice.
I feel like it was definitely a more expensive option but I feel like it's worth it for how close it is and how clean. Oh, and to get into the building itself you have to scan in and there are always police or security driving around so I feel safe living alone. I also hardly hear any of my neighbors which is crazy.
The place is new/still under construction, so there isn't a pool or gym yet, or any social gatherings that I know of.
Orleans Station
It’s with in walking distance of the school, so it’s very convenient for new students that don’t want to travel far in a new city. They are new apartments so they are still under construction and lack some amenities (gym). There is occasional power/wifi outages, especially when it rains. Management and maintenance are professional and quickly resolve complaints.
Good Experience!
It's been good! Great management. They are very responsive and approachable. I like that the location is close to school and the UTHSC police patrol the area too.
There is ongoing construction so it can get loud.
