Not Worth the Price

5 management rating Reviewed by on

Good location, close to school and downtown. The maintenance team is great, and rapid to respond and fix things. Indoor parking is a nice option but expensive.

The appliances are outdated, and the hallways have an unpleasant odor caused by rain seeping onto the first floor and a malfunctioning trash compactor. One major concern is the inadequate security measures, as there are no cameras in the entranceways, outside the building, or inside the parking garage. This has led to frequent incidents of stolen packages and damage to personal property within the building. The noise level from the road can be loud at times as the building build isn't the best (cracks in corners of walls/moldings) and I'm sure the windows are cheap.

Overall, there are much better options downtown and nearby that are similar price, newer builds, and higher security.

City Flats on Walnut is a great place to live!

I’ve had a great experience at City Flats on Walnut. The building is relatively quiet and closely located to both downtown and Godfrey Hall. The building is well maintained with my only complaint being that management can react a bit faster when the trash compactor breaks down (the building smells bad when the trash chute backs up).

Lyft discount for students doesn't apply to this neighborhood but applies to surrounding regions. It is funny.

Safe, Clean, and Beautiful Area

9 management rating Reviewed by on

City Flats at Renwick has been my home for several years. The apartment complex is quiet, safe, well-kept, clean, modern, and near a beautiful park where you can take walks. The only downside is that it is driving distance from the law school (about 10 minute drive), and it is quite expensive.

Convenient Location

The location is great! It is a 20 minute walk to Kelley and 15 minutes to downtown. If you have a car, you can get everywhere in 3 minutes. Parking is an extra fee. There are two options, surface parking or garage parking. Each unit has its own washer and dryer. One complaint is that it is loud given that it is located right off Walnut (a main street here).

Perfect except the expense

I love living at City Flats at Renwick. The neighborhood adjacent to us is absolutely beautiful, especially if you enjoy exercising outdoors. The unit itself is maintained very well, is clean, new, and very safe and quiet. It's about a 5-10 minute drive to Maurer. The only downfall is the steep price, but for me, the other factors made up for it (especially how quiet and safe it is).

The management is responsive. Whenever we submit a complain, the management resolves the issue in 2-3 days. The location is on the campus shuttle route 6 and 6L.

MBA Experience at City Flats

The apartment and complex are generally good. Clean, relatively quiet area (except for the occasional emergency service vehicles with blaring sirens going down the street). Management is typically pretty good about resolving any maintenance requests in a relatively quick matter, especially if deemed as an emergency (plumbing, power, etc.). Overall, good value, especially if you have pets. In my opinion, there are definitely better options for the same price point, but unfortunately, most places do not allow animals at all.
