Trinity Commons at Erwin reviews and highlights
- excellent amenities
- a short Uber ride to 9th street
- extremely secure building
Overall great, but it's a little expensive considering amenities in the room
The apartment is overall great, the managing party is helpful and responsive, and the location is pretty near the West Campus. But the price is a bit high considering the amenities in the dorm are a bit unsatisfactory. Red molds and mildew always appear in the bathtub, the sink, and the toilet, even after repeated cleaning. The elevators sometimes shut down. There are cockroaches in the hallway, and sometimes in the dorm.

expensive but safe bet for international student
a lot of international students live here; it's clean and has a functional gym; I feel that a lot of the utilities are not necessary and also expensive but we are still required to pay, like trash valet and the parking which we do not need

Not worth it for the price
My first year at Trinity I loved it. But then there was a change in the management. Nothing is included in the rent and everything is so expensive (insane fees like being charged a parking fee even if you don’t have a car). There are consistent issues with the trash pick up and the parking garage is always broken. I love the location but that is about it.

No Longer Worth It
Trinity is located very close to the medical school, which is convenient. But the new management is scammy. I moved out after last year because they increased the rent by a LOT and it was already very expensive to live there. I would have been paying around $2,300 per month including the new mandatory $100 per month internet fee and the new parking fee they instated plus the base rent increase. The new management is crazy. They don't host events anymore and just try to squeeze money out of all the residents wherever they can. A dark apartment with no cell service and roaches is not worth $2,300 per month. Please live somewhere else; it's not worth it.

Close to Fuqua, Luxury Apartment
10 minutes Scooter from Fuqua, nice distance. Right beside the apartment, there are gas stations, restaurants (chipotle, dunkin, pizza, noodle, indian, burgers, etc). Relatively quiet. Safe and Secure. Gym (not the best but if you like cardio it's fine). Pool + Jacuzzi is nice. Game Room with pool (no ping pong).
Con: Elevator often under repair (maybe just the one near me). Wifi outage especially when raining. Studio space is small. Mandatory parking fee ($100) even when I don't have car. Mail room gets messy when there're many packages (easy to lose sometimes). Bad signal in certain area (game room). Studio doesn't have an oven.

Close to the campus. But the parking(95$) is mandatory. The rent is relatively high

Trinity Commons is not the quality it once was
Trinity Commons is still quite and very close to campus. These are my top priorities. However, when new management company bought the building in November 2022, prices have increased and quality (in every imaginable way) has decreased. It has been disappointing.

Good building, bad management
The positives of this complex include the proximity to campus (walkable to Duke West Campus), good apartment interior features (granite countertops, ample storage, wood floors), and good safety. There are also plenty of luxury amenities including a pool, gym, sauna, steam room, courtyard, entertainment areas, etc.
I loved this apartment to live in while it was owned by Norwood Ravin, but since the building was purchased by the Connor Group, the rents have skyrocketed, the management is far less friendly, and fees have been added that previously were not required (including exorbitant fees for parking, amenities, and others). None of this has translated into any improvements on the building itself aside from a coat of blue paint. The garage door still does not function, the fountain functions intermittently at best, and the paint job on apartment doors was done very carelessly.

trinity
- very unclean - many roaches and pests throughout the building. at one point, there was feces in a stairwell that wasn’t clean for several wks, despite several complaints to management.
- poor management - constantly overcharged, incompetent staff
- incredible increases in rent for no reason
- no sunlight, pipes filled with mold and roaches
