Hilldale Gardens Apartments

The apartment are pretty close to Jewish Middlemen Community Center. The entire property dips down a bit and so it feels like you are surrounded in forest like oasis. All through the year you can hear many birds singing on the grounds. On my patio I had visit a pair of doves, northern flickers, stellars Jays, humming birds, and many others that I don't even know the name of. The property's ground are lush and surrounded with a natural forest landscape. I have even seen rabbits at the edge of the grounds eating grass. When I put a maintenance request in on-line, it is almost always fixed the next day. When I had dishwasher trouble, they quickly replaced it a brand new one. I have been their over 3 years, and they never "hike" the rent. Some years I only had a $10 rent increase. It is really the best apartment complex that I have ever lived in. They recently built a fenced in dog park because so many residents had dogs. They also just put in a new fitness center. They maintain the pool in top condition during the summer season. The pool is higher up on the property, and tucked into lush surrounding forest, it is gorgeous in the summer. The apartments are smaller but all are newly remodeled and have AC. I am walking distance to 7 different bus lines. I often walk down to Hillsdale for lunch or dinner in the summer. They do have small storage units to rent. The walls are extremely think, I hardly ever hear anything. My heat bill is very low, which I think is because the apartments are so well insulated and because they have new windows.

I really enjoy this complex. It's nothing fancy, but has all the amenities one needs plus a pool and a rec. room. I like the greenery and there is a nice back patio. There are no garages and not a lot of storage in the apartment. It is also walking distance to shopping, bars, restaurants, and nature parks. It's a diverse community.

No central air/ heating so it can get cold in the winter. No in-house laundry but they have 2 setups in the complex.

Overall, it's a great deal considering a lot of my friends

The apartment complex is surrounded by lots of trees and vegetation. I wake up to the sounds of birds singing. The apartment complex is very quiet and peaceful. When I submit a maintenance request it is taken care of always by the next day. Pretty amazing, I can submit it at 9:00pm at night, and the next morning it is fixed. They are always painting the exterior, adding new flowers, trees, and shrubs. They only raised my rent $10 once my year lease was up. It has really been the most amazing apartment renting experience ever. The pool is up on a slope, surrounded by towering trees, and kept so clean during the summer. By boys started riding their bikes in the complex, and the next week management had put up signs "slow kids at play" and some road bumps to slow down any potential fast drivers through the lot. I love it. Plus the heater also provides air conditioning. I never hear my neighbors, the wall must be built very well. The only down side is the apartment itself is pretty small.
