The convenience of Canal Square cannot be understated. Easy access to school, downtown, and anything else you could want. Though, it is an older building. There are emergency water shut offs fairly regularly, but they don't usually last long. That being said, maintenance is great at communicating and fixes problems quickly and easily.

It's good, convenient location decent amenities. Property Management is sub-par and slow. Otherwise, solid place to live.

Canal Square has been a great complex to live in. The management and maintenance staff are extremely friendly and very responsive to concerns. Parking is expensive, but it's worth it to live across from the law school. The pool and gym are clean and well maintained. We have a pet and the fees are reasonable. It is a very secure facility and police from IU and the capital are always around monitoring. It's a great for people who love the downtown lifestyle because it's a very walkable area with lots of great restaurants within walking distance.

Management is not the best, kind of unorganized. Get an apartment overlooking the canal to make it worthwhile. Rent is expensive for out of date units but they are making improvements

Proximity to the law school is the best part of living here. You don’t have to pay for a campus parking pass which saves money, but you will be paying an $100 per month for the apartment garage. Utilities are not included. The building is about to fall apart. They cover it with new paint but the foundation is cracking. Maintenance does the best they can but upper management won’t approve enough budget for them to actually make a difference. The front office takes forever to get back to you. The rent will increase by $200 every year. I would live here for 1L when you’re at the school every day, then get out! The pool is nice in the summer, and the canal is a good walk when you need to clear your head after studying all day.

canal square has been great as a busy student. i'm right next to campus (and a Starbucks!) and the free wifi in the business office has been a blessing. we had an issue with management entering into our room without notice, but it was quickly resolved after one email and we have not experienced the issue again.
the gym is open 24/7, and the courtyard is great to get some sunlight.

I’ve had a few issues with my apartment but the maintenance is really helpful. The pool and gym are nice amenities. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.

It’s a great first apartment. It’s a safe and pleasant place to live.
