The Lauren - Dupont Circle

The Lauren is a condo building, but many owners rent out their apartments, so you can often find an available unit. Also ask at or call the front desk to find available units. Location is amazing, one block from Dupont Circle and GUTS bus stop. Has an awesome roof top pool that is key in the warmer months. There is laundry in the basement, and parking that you have to pay for separately. A great building.

Perfect location

The Lauren is close to everything (restaurants, GWU, Trader Joe's, White House, the National Mall). There are a lot of bus routes and it is a block away from the metro. The building is a bit old, but the staff is friendly and the view from the rooftop is amazing at sunset.

Amazing location and amenities

This building is in a stellar location close to bars, restaurants, and the metro. There is a rooftop pool which is great. The building isn't the newest in the area, but it is nice enough and the location makes it worth the price. A lot of my fellow graduate students live in this building, so it makes it a good social atmosphere without any crazy parties or loudness. I love it!

Walking Distance

I like the place because I'm walking distance to shopping, food, university, and metro. All within 5 to 20 minutes walk. The roof top is nice, there is a small pool, not meant for swimming laps. The maintenance of the place well kept, the cleaning, trash, fixing anything that broken in a timely matter, keeping the sidewalk clear when it snows. The cons is that the walls are thin, can hear neighbors, and people/traffic on the street.

Perfect location, great people, bad windows

The front desk staff is amazing, friendly, and personable. The location is perfect for both students, interns, and full time employees. The only complaint will be how bad the windows are. They don't insulate at all, and anything outside can be heard.

The Lauren

Wonderful location. In the heart of Dupont Circle, a short walk from nearly any type of cuisine. Plenty of nearby bars to chose from, along with shopping. The only knock would be that the closest grocery store is just under a mile away, making it difficult for people without a vehicle.

Dupont Circle Apt

This apartment has been a great place to live. There is enough room for two of us and the pool and rooftop during the Spring, Summer, and Fall is absolutely wonderful. The big windows make it so our apartment is always light and cheery which is excellent. All utilities are included in the rent which is great. Our condo owner is also wonderful. My only complaint is the noise level that comes with being on the 2nd floor of an apartment building in Dupont Circle. I also do not love having all white carpets throughout the apartment. Overall, I have no regrets and the lauren is a great place to live.

Condo Building w/apartments to rent

Found on craigslist. Condo building where a lot of owners rent out their apartments. Apartment is spacious with an open kitchen, but is a little outdated. There is a nice rooftop with pool and a basement laundry room. No gym, and parking at building is expensive. Owner wanted $2200, but got him down to $1800. Location is excellent, close to Dupont Circle, Georgetown, and GUTS stop.

Great neighborhood. Very walkable, even at night I always feel safe. Usually lots of people out and about. Young community, lots of bars and some awesome restaurants. Farmers markets and outside concerts in the warm months. Easy access to foggy bottom metro (15min walk) and dupont metro (5 min walk). Lots of green space (rock creek park). Georgetown 20 min walk with great shopping. 20 min walk to AdMo with great restaurants/bars
I love the neighborhood! Perfectly situated between Dupont Circle and Foggy Bottom. Walking distance to campus, while still being separate enough to feel independent. Tons of restaurants, bars, and stores around. The neighborhood feels very safe but is quiet and residential, too.
Dupont Circle is a great area. I like that my block feels very residential, but I'm close to convenience stores, the Metro, and only a 15-20 minute walk to the law school. Sometimes I walk over to Georgetown, which is nice.
I have never felt unsafe walking home at night from campus. The area is mostly embassies and very fancy apartments and townhouses.
could not be happier. i love having a safe space away from the law school
West End is amazing! Such great restaurants and stores around!
Amazing food and restaurants all within walking distance
Hamilton House is located in the crossings of West End, Foggy Bottom, and DuPont. It is a very clean, classy area. Super incredible how you can walk down the street to old-town DC, walk down another street and its all clubs and bars of DuPont, walk the other direction and its GW, walk another direction and its DuPont circle and all the incredible food. This is an ideal location, especially being situated right in between Foggy Bottom / GW Metro stop and the DuPont Metro stop.
