Spacious, Not Bad

The Carlton is not a bad place to live. My one bedroom apartment is "spacious," and there are a lot of amenities that come with the apartment. There is an ample amount of parking and although parking for guest is limited. It's a great "starter" apartment for couples.

Great location, great value, but older area

The location is great, and for what you pay, you get a much bigger apt in terms of square footage compared to most others in Arlington, however, residents are majority Hispanics and elderlies.

The Condo fees that the owners pay include all utilities except for cable and internet so that is very nice.

Pets are generally allowed but its up to the individual owners.

Overall a great apt to rent if you care more about value than convenience commutes to social/night life

Getting around Columbia Pike

Columbia Pike Reviews

Alcova heights, sort of suburban very quiet and very safe but walking distance to stores and restaurants.
Nice and diverse neighborhood. Up and coming. Safe and convenient. Lots of options for food and drinks. Close proximity to DC and Tyson's Corner. Lots of new construction.
I love Columbia pike. It is affordable to live here.
Close to many grocery stores, convenient stores and many restaurants. Very quick to Pentagon City metro station or Clareden metro station
The neighborhood is very family friendly. I can walk, bike, or bus easily to the metro/Pentagon City mall or bus/bike to the law school. Walking distance to fair assortment of restaurants, grocery store, pharmacy, etc. on Columbia Pike. Neighborhood is dotted with parks, tennis courts, short bike path, and other recreation.
Absolutely lovely place to live. Lots of food options in a highly diverse neighborhood.
Been built up a lot in the last few years with a Harris Teeter in walking distance. Lots of metro bus lines right outside the door with a shuttle to the metro
More working class up and down the pike, no bars or anything of that sort. But close enough to Ballston and Shirlington.
