Beware of this "pet friendly" building

My experience at this apartment has been terrible. I have a puppy that has separation anxiety, which requires that he get adjusted to new surroundings. Within one month of bringing puppy to live with me, I actively took measures to help him settle in, invested money to get a dog walker, and planned to sign him up for dog daycare. Within one month, I was notified that an action was filed against me to commence an eviction proceeding. I also received a threatening anonymous message under my door from a fellow neighbor warning me to get control of my dog.

So if you have a pet. I hope it's one that has no issues, or else get ready to face eviction.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff, unbeatable location, cool roof-top deck

Overall great place to live, albeit you pay quite a bit to bit in the best neighborhood in DC. If you have a healthy budget, I would recommend this place to anyone. As a result of the high rent, all of the tenants seem to be smart professionals who have their acts together so there's never any messy common spaces or obnoxiously loud parties to deal with (except for what happens at the clubs across the street). Also, the gym is pretty basic, but it gets the job done.

U Street Corridor Reviews

Very vibrant part of town, with a lot of young professionals. There is a lot to do in the neighborhood from restaurants, bars, and even workout studios/gyms. There is so much within walking distance, and there are two metro stops also within walking distance. It is very convenient especially if you are a Howard student. You really couldn’t be in a better neighborhood than U Street corridor and the Shaw District.
Love the restaurants on 14th and the availability of bars in my neighborhood, however the U st bars have creepier people than the bars in other parts of the city. Also my phone was stolen at Tropicalia. Don't go there.
There are not many grocery stores nearby, but there is a great Chinese Restaurant down the street. The neighborhood is probably one of the safest places in DC.
Great parks, restaurants, and bars nearby. Also close to several supermarkets, coffee, shops and a metro station
Shaw // U St is a great place to live. Tons of fun bars and restaurants nearby as well as great shopping.
There are a bunch of restaurants and bars in the area, so that is a major plus. The area is also right next to Meridian Hill Park, so you have easy access to a lot of outdoor space. Depending on the exact location of the building, there can be a lot of noise, but the area is overall safe.
Although, noisy, the U street corridor is by far the only place I'd want to live in DC. Yes, the area is in serious need of some parking garages but between the convenience and amazing nightlife this area has it all.
Love Shaw, feels like a neighborhood but with plenty of fun things to do & very close to everything you would need. Access to public transit while not too far from VA or GW.
