Foxchase Apartments reviews and highlights
- quiet property full of young families and professionals
- older building
- offers a shuttle to the King Street Metro
- affordable place and accessible to the city
- great location a few miles from Old Town Alexandria
- fabulous amenities including four pools, eight tennis courts, and walking trails
General experience
Overall I have enjoyed living at Foxchase and plan to continue living there. I have had a couple of complaints but the maintenance crew has been very responsive. Parking can be a little tricky but generally you can always find a spot depending on how far you’re willing to walk.

Spacious
If you have a car and do not mind a 10-15 minute drive to campus, I highly recommend living in Alexandria. You get twice the space for $500-900 cheaper than in Arlington. Additionally, there are fewer extra expenses such as parking. My apartment in particular has large bedrooms with plenty of closet space for both myself and my roommate, as well as an office.

It's okay. It's getting kind of 'ghetto' though.
There's lots of bike trails, places to eat, handful of bus route stops, and close to two metro stations. But the crowd this place is attracting now is questionable. Police have been quite the regulars here.

Affordable and spacious, a few miles from Old Town
Foxchase is walking distance from a grocery store, some restaurants and a convenience store. It's located a few miles from Old Town Alexandria which make the location great and affordable compared to living right in Old Town. There are plenty of bus stops around and the apartment complex offers a shuttle to the King Street Metro station during the weekday in the morning and afternoons.
Maintenance always responds to requests quickly and the management staff is usually available when you need to speak to someone in person (hard to reach anyone by phone or email however).
The only complaint is that my cat has caught 2 mice in the apartment and my roommate and I are very clean and live on the 3rd floor. We called maintenance both times and they said that they put down some pest deterrent both times.
Overall it's not a luxury apartment, the building is a little old but it's an affordable place and accessible to the city. I would recommend this complex to someone.

Great place if your budgeting
My fiance and I moved here from San Diego. This place is alright. Management is getting better but half the time they seem lost. They only give you 36 hour notice if they are going to enter your apartment which sucks when you have a pet since it is a short time to tell work you cant come in since you have a pet. It is though the best bang for your buck but if you want to make friends where you live it will not happen here!!!

Best Value for the Price in the DC Area
Living on your own in DC can be expensive; that's why most people have roommates. When I chose to have my own place, I knew I had a budget. I was lucky to find Foxchase. The property is quiet, full of young families and professionals, and the value for the dollar is fabulous. With all of my utilities, an on-site storage unit, a balcony, and internet, I pay around $1350/month. The floor plans are perfectly laid out with plenty of storage. I never thought 498 square feet would feel spacious! My neighbors are all very friendly, and the amenities - the four pools, 8 tennis courts, walking trails, and shuttle to and from the metro - are fabulous. The only issues I've had are with the maintenance team; I find they respond within 24 hours only if you submit your issue online. Additionally, the parking spots are very small. The management company tries to gouge you for a parking pass or reserved spot, though. The reserved spots are only marked once a month and are subcontracted out to the towing company; so they may not even get your parking spot marked until 2-3 months after you purchase it. Street parking (free) is plentiful, and make sure you talk to the leasing or management office about which lots are street parking and which are managed parking lots. Towing happens frequently.

Old Town Reviews
- Safe, nearby grocery store, pet friendly, pool, close to restaurants, diverse in income types and styles of homes, etc.
Cons: Section 8 housing, a lot of people for a tiny pool.
