First, I paid extra to sign only a four month lease because I was not sure that I would like living alone, which is why I pay $1400 in rent. Had I signed for 12 months, it would have been closer to $1200. I pay $95 for underground parking, but the complex has other options as well. I will also say, before my review, that I am moving out after 4 months of living here. Not to the fault of the apartment, but because I don't love living alone enough to justify what I pay when my parents live fairly locally.
I have loved this apartment. It is older - no granite countertops or pretty kitchen. But I have a huge balcony, and I get a lot of space for the money. I have friends that also pay $1400 to live in brand new apartments that are half the size. Location is great - on the border of Minneapolis and St. Louis Park, a few blocks from Bde Maka Ska, walking distance to whole foods, a few fast food chains, and a handful of restaurants - including Wakame and Taberna and those located at Excelsior and Grand.
It is also located on the Greenway for easy access to anywhere in Minneapolis and all the other lakes. Within a 15 minute drive - downtown Minneapolis (school), Uptown, Excelsior and Grand, West End, the Galleria, 50th and France. Location is really incredible. Pet friendly, and a safe area, especially compared to other parts of Minneapolis.
The apartment has great amenities and I have had great encounters with management. There is an indoor pool, hot tub, and sauna as well as an outdoor pull. There is a gym, cycle studio, dog wash station, tanning beds, and secure package rooms. Walls are thick - the only time I ever hear anyone is when they pass my front door in the hallway, which is no big deal at all. Respectful residents of all ages. They also host combined events with the sister property, Be @ Axon Green, next door.
Honestly, my least favorite thing is that laundry is communal. It is never and issue, just kind of inconvenient.
