DO NOT RENT Not Communication with Residence Poor Customer Service
I have lived at this location for 3.5 years. There is no negotiation or consideration for Rent Increases, no matter what the maintenance or service record. Beware of the internet pricing which does not cover water, utilities, trash service.
I have had a non-working fireplace that the maintenance staff had tried to fix but never could because of the scope of repair while someone is living in the residence. They should not have rented the apartment until all amenities were in working order.
There are rats as large as squirrels in their main trash area and the trash compactor breaks on a regular basis where people just pile up their trash to look like mountains of trash piles. They bring in an open top and this fills up with the mountains of trash, and there still are mountains of trash. No wonder there are rats. I have had issues with mice in my apartment where I had to use my own bait system to control.
What I do have issue with is the office staff, not the maintenance. When asking questions on issues they appear bothered. They have turned their staff twice in the 3.5 years I have been there.
Coorporate does not respond at all to concerns, even though their automatic reply that thanks you for contacting them and a member of their staff will get ahold of you. I have asked them about the penalty for breaking a lease even with a 60-day notice and they will not reduce it. No matter the circumstances. They have not responded to letters, emails, or phone messages. They are so poor with customer service that if you want to have help or have a concern they don't care.
This is way to corporate for an apartment management. You will not be heard. Please read your lease. Beware of the hidden costs that will accumulate on your monthly rent.

My time in the apartment so far has been great, only a few loud neighbors have distracted from the overall feel of the place. I have recommended the building to others who are looking for a place to live in the District, however none have moved in so far.
