Great Apartment

Super quiet, very responsive management, 24 hour concierge, gym, grills, pool, game room, very nice looking apartments that are spacious, a block from the metro. A little pricey, not much sunlight (though you can get an apartment with a balcony), the area is close to Clarendon which is a good restaurant/bar scene, but there's not much in the immediate surroundings.

Great for GMU

Awesome for GMU students as literally a stone's throw from campus. Nice big windows with lots of light. Sweet, well-equipped gym that is never very busy. Always clean, always managed by polite front desk staff. Your typical high-end luxury apt building in VA, but very new. Good locale, short walk to TJs, whole foods and Giant. Short walk to the bars and hang outs of clarendon. Opposite the subway. Guards patrolling always at night, high security entry system.

Cool and innovative

The amenities are pretty amazing. Building gets a bit rowdy on the weekend since it is a younger crowd living in the building. Location is beyond ideal, metro, coffee shop, and a few convenience stores are well within walking distance. Only downside is the walls are a bit on the thin side.

Good digs for GMU / VA workers - beautiful units

The apt itself is really nice - lots of light, airy, well insulated, spacious. the building amenities are also great - sweet gym thats never crowded, and always extremely well kept and maintained. It is right off the subway so that's great - but I won't lie it can be a pain to get to downtown DC some nights/weekends especially when the metro is being uncooperative. Overall an awesome find if you work/mostly hang out in NOVA, but if I get a job downtown I'd probably give up the beaut apt for the convenience of a shorter commute with no transfers.

love it

Love the apartment. great floor plan, gets tons of beautiful sunlight through big living room surrounded by windows. balcony is also peaceful when weather permits us to use it. Lots of great common areas though I only really use the gym and the grill.

Not the luxury apartment I thought, but good nonetheless

Overall, it's been a good experience and I'd happily renew my lease. However, there have been some maintenance issues that are unexpected for a brand new building. Some of the "green" features are inconvenient as well. No handicap button in the south tower garage elevator lobby - not sure how that's allowable. The front desk staff is usually very helpful and pleasant, but the leasing agents are totally unhelpful once you're signed up. The resident website doesn't let me login from a computer - only a mobile device, and no one seems to care enough to fix that. Not much noise from our side-to-side neighbors, but we can hear every noise that comes from the hallway.

Great for young professionals

For the most part, Dittmar Company targets young professionals and it's no different with Virginia Square Towers. It's amenities include a game room, a virtual simulation room, a pool, and laundry machines within each unit. The indoor gym is better than most apartments', which besides the usual treadmills, weight machines, and dumbbells, include a projector room for spinning and dancing classes.

One of the greatest pros about this place is that it's one block away from the Virginia Square Metro. For this reason, and the $125 fee for the first parking space and a $75 fee for the second, it's better for commuters to live here.

Half of the apartment (a separate building) is currently under construction, though most of the construction is done around 9-5 on weekdays, so noise isn't too big of a concern.

Management seems to be pleasant and the doormen are terrific, but I haven't yet had any problems to test my relationship with the former.

Getting around Clarendon

Clarendon Reviews

Very safe and quiet. There are some good restaurants close by and it’s a quick walk to Clarendon for more dining options.
Safe, clean, and plenty to do. DC proper is very accessible.
LOVE LOVE LOVE my neighborhood. I'm between dupont and u street, so it's not in the middle of it all, which I appreciate. I'm literally 2 blocks from 14th street where all the great restaurants/bars are. I'm also 5-7 mins walking distance to multiple grocery stores (Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Safeway). It's quiet enough to feel like I'm not in a city, but i'm steps away from being reminded that I am.
Courthouse (located right between Rosslyn and Clarendon), is a very convenient area, with lots of shopping, grocery stores, convenience stores, and restaurants. The metro station is in the center of the neighborhood and leads right to downtown DC, and the area feels very safe, including at night.
This is a very good neighborhood with an easy commute to McLean. It's a very walkable area with Trader Joes and Whole Foods nearby and many other shops, restaurants and bars. There is also a dog park as well as a park (Rocky Run) that has basketball courts and a turf field.
A nice place with plenty of night life, restaurants, and things to do. Pretty safe and upscale. A little cheaper than living in Foggy Bottom but were it not for my wife's work, I might opt to be closer to GW. The commute isnt bad though, 15 or 20 mins by metro.
Average neighborhood, food scene is unexceptional. If the law school wasn't right here I wouldn't be living here. Tons of crowds and people not taking masks / social distancing / pandemic in general serious and going to bars and clubs.
DC people are snooty about those living in Clarendon, but I love it! You get out of the city to a safe, walk-able area with high-end shops and restaurants steps from home. Metro and bus access is fantastic! I don't need a car!
