Avana Westside Review

Extremely loud, filled with students and young people who listen to music at all hours of the day. Even during quiet hours. Weed smoke smell in halls, pretty frequently. Other than that this apartment is a nice place to live. Apartments are very spacious, clean, chic, halls are always clean, community is always presentable, But visitor parking is not great at all since we are a midtown location.

Great location, terrible management

I have really enjoyed living at AVANA, however, the management team is incredibly unprofessional and immature. When it comes to crazy events, I am great about keeping a level head. Car was broken into and my apt flooded. I handled the situations on my own however, they lagged urgency when handling the water damage done to my apartment. They took over a month to handle the incident. I'm in sales so I know the importance of a good reputation, and this location, WHILE AMAZING, does not deserve a good review unfortunately.

Ok building - bad environment

It has been good for a 1st apartment in size/ location but I am not getting what I pay for. Little sunlight, I don't feel safe as a single female & management doesn't seem to care. The only reason I like it there is because my gym is right next door.

Avana Westside Experience

Avana Westside is not somewhere I'd recommend. Let's start with the pros...

- Good price and great location
- Nice apartments on the inside (updated amenities, decent floors and walls)

Cons...

-Not a safe area - we have multiple car break-ins every month, mainly due to...
-Management. They don't fix the parking garage gate for weeks, leading to said above events. They don't answer calls. They charge INSANE prices for your water bill (when I first moved in it was $40 for the month, last month was $155 - tried to call to get it lowered because that's obviously not accurate but couldn't get in touch with anyone for DAYS and had to end up paying it). They let pretty much anyone live in these apartments - they say they do a background check, but from what I can tell from my fellow residents, it's not very thorough. They are extremely unprofessional, unorganized and undeserving of leading this property. I could do it better and I have zero experience in being a landlord. It's just common sense to actually respond to your tenants for basic things like utility questions.
- Walls in apartments are thin - when people come and leave in apartments next to you, it can sound like they are literally opening your front door.
-Smells like weed in the hallway pretty much 24/7 (unpleasant and annoying, especially if you have guests)
-But don't worry about having guests, because there is nowhere for them to park. You get one visitor's pass, they have to park on the fifth floor of the parking deck (but you better figure that one out yourself or they will boot your guest for parking anywhere else), and people are CONSTANTLY waiting in the middle of the entrance road in front of the parking deck for god knows what. Just cars stopped everywhere obstructing the flow of traffic.

Westside Reviews

It’s close to shopping, close to Atlantic station, close to Howell mill which has a lot of great restaurants (ex. marcel, Barcelona, sushi oku, the optimist). Can walk to Starbucks and shopping complex including Tj maxx, Office Depot in about 5 minutes. Unfortunately northside drive itself is not really walkable as there are no sidewalks
The neighborhood includes Atlantic Station and the shopping districts on Howell Mill. We are very close to UpBeet, Ormsby's, and a bunch of cute trendy restaurants. Plus, Atlantic Station has all the major shops and a move theater. There is even an LA fitness there.
Westside has definitely come up in terms of Atlanta neighborhoods. There are tons of great restaurants in the area, and it is a very safe place to be, even at night. If you like to eat, you NEED to venture over!
Great because of proximity to campus. Limited gym facilities. otherwise good community. noise levels not too high.
Blandtown is a great area to live that is just away from the hustle of Howell Mill Road and all the amenities that are offered there. Topgolf is convenient and getting to Midtown or the interstates is just a couple of minute drive. Definitely worth saving the money to live over here.
Pros are close to downtown and near a lot of restaurants and about 20 mins from everything within the perimeter. Con at night like most places in the city it can feel a little unsafe as well as there can be a lot of traffic at random parts of the day.
This area is in transition. There are great restaurants and lots of new apartments. It's becoming a really cool part of town but it's not quite there.
