Check Unit Before Signing
Overall, the apartments at The Bailey are decent for the price. Each unit has a nice patio/balcony, and there are nice amenities on the property like a pool and a gym. The main issues we have experienced revolve around the location of the unit and the response times of the staff. Had we had a chance to see the unit location in person, we would have chosen a different unit. It was called a first floor unit, but in actuality, we are a basement unit that was built on the lower side of the hill. When we moved in, there were issues with the outdoor plumbing flooding the grass area right by our door, so we endured many mosquitoes until the maintenance team had time to fix the issue. Additionally, we spent the first week without a washer and dryer because the main office never checked to ensure we had working appliances. Our freezer still doesn't work properly after the maintenance guy told us there is nothing wrong with it. There are some individuals on the maintenance team that are stellar, and others who shouldn't be on the team. Overall, The Bailey is hit or miss, depending on if you can ensure you have a nice location on the property and can get the attention of the right maintenance person.

alvista apartments review
the apartment itself is comfortable and quiet. neighbors do not disturb me. maintenance is generally responsive. there is a bus taking me to campus directly in the mornings which is very convenient. main downsides are that it basically doesn't include anything (utilities, water, internet etc are all extra). also, although it's fine and comfortable, the construction quality isn't the best, so you notice little things like vibration when the air conditioning is on etc. certainly doesn't take away from overall it being fine.

Alvista Durham
Alvista Durham is 20 bus ride from the SOM. It is a lovely and quiet community that allows easy access to Durham and Chapel Hill.

Decent for the Price
This apartment complex is nice for the price. My 2 bed/2 bath apartment costs the same as a studio apartment nearer to campus. However, I do not always feel safe in my apartment and the living conditions are not ideal with the terrible noises coming from every surrounding neighbor possible. The walls/floors in this complex have to be the lowest possible quality you can get.
