Cozy & Lively
I love being in Printers Row! There's restaurants and shops which have been fun to explore. In the summer there's a weekly Farmers Market and it's a pet friendly area. Parking is expensive so keep that in mind if you're planning to have a car here.

South Loop Reviews
Across Michigan Ave from Grant Park. 10-minute walk from the Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, Adler Planetarium, and Soldier Field.
Roosevelt station is very close by and incredibly convenient if you don't mind taking the train or buses, but it is a transit hub, so expect increased numbers and variety of people.
Not far from the rest of the Loop, and you can still easily make your way north for study groups and social events.
If went further south than 22ND street it tends to get a little sketchy, but overall a nice area.
