State house

Older apartment building located in a nice location. Mix of young professionals and older tenants (rent-stabilized apartment). Laundry in basement. Garage and outdoor parking for a monthly fee. Good management, maintenance is responsive. Not many amenities (no gym, no pool), although there is a rooftop. Overall, great budget place to live if you don't mind older building.

Great Location

This is a very good apartment in terms of location. The metro is a 6 minute walk door to door. The apartment itself is very basic, but the best deal you can get for this location. There are no bells and whistles, but the studios are the biggest you can get in the Dupont area at the same price.

Great spot in Dupont

Great location for the price. Although there are few amenities, perfect for young working professional in DC. Building has mostly studio apartments that are large with a tiny kitchen. Building has a nice rooftop but it is only available for use over the summer.

Cannot beat the location

My apartment building is a charming building right off the Mad Men TV show. Being in the heart of Dupont Circle, the location is unbeatable. The only downside is poor insulated windows and lack of sound proofing. Overall, great place to live for couples.

Old building but a bargain in Dupont

The Statehouse is a bargain considering the size and fantastic location, close to the metro, restaurants, bars, convenience stores etc. There is a great rooftop, but unfortunately only open during the summer for some reason. The building is old and could use a lot of refurbishing. There is a 24hr concierge at the front desk, but unfortunately no amenities unless you count the laundry room.

Value for money!

The building is old with no amenities, but you cannot beat the location and affordable rent! Stone's throw from the Dupont Circle metro (red line) and walking distance to Foggy Bottom (blue line). Overall, a nice place to live and no regrets! Thanks

Amazing Locale

I've been here for a few years and the location is fantastic. You are just minutes away from the Red Line and tons of restaurants and shopping. Rent is sky high everywhere but this building charges a decent amount given the location. Rent includes electricity and water as well. With that said, the building is extremely dated and showcases tons of wear and tear. There are no amenities and the roof area is highly restrictive. If you just need an affordable place while in the district and don't care about any frills...The State House would be a good selection. Just keep expectations minimal!

State House Apartment

The State House Apartments were perfect for my needs and I have loved living here:
- Great location, close to everything you could ever want
- 2 blocks from GUTS bus and 1 block for D6, D2, and G2, so easy access to Georgetown. Also 2 blocks from Dupont circle metro stop.
- Reasonable price
- Big studios
- Doorman without doorman prices

CONS:
- Built in the 1920s and barely updated - original bathrooms and windows (which are paper thin)
- No amenities
- Parking is $185 per month and there is no easily accessible street parking

Dupont Circle Reviews

Great neighborhood. Very walkable, even at night I always feel safe. Usually lots of people out and about. Young community, lots of bars and some awesome restaurants. Farmers markets and outside concerts in the warm months. Easy access to foggy bottom metro (15min walk) and dupont metro (5 min walk). Lots of green space (rock creek park). Georgetown 20 min walk with great shopping. 20 min walk to AdMo with great restaurants/bars
I love the neighborhood! Perfectly situated between Dupont Circle and Foggy Bottom. Walking distance to campus, while still being separate enough to feel independent. Tons of restaurants, bars, and stores around. The neighborhood feels very safe but is quiet and residential, too.
Dupont Circle is a great area. I like that my block feels very residential, but I'm close to convenience stores, the Metro, and only a 15-20 minute walk to the law school. Sometimes I walk over to Georgetown, which is nice.
I have never felt unsafe walking home at night from campus. The area is mostly embassies and very fancy apartments and townhouses.
could not be happier. i love having a safe space away from the law school
West End is amazing! Such great restaurants and stores around!
Amazing food and restaurants all within walking distance
Hamilton House is located in the crossings of West End, Foggy Bottom, and DuPont. It is a very clean, classy area. Super incredible how you can walk down the street to old-town DC, walk down another street and its all clubs and bars of DuPont, walk the other direction and its GW, walk another direction and its DuPont circle and all the incredible food. This is an ideal location, especially being situated right in between Foggy Bottom / GW Metro stop and the DuPont Metro stop.
