I love this apartment! Great location close to the medical school, affordable price for a studio, and apartments are very well-kept with nice appliances and large windows.

Basic apartment close to feinberg

It’s an old building with recently renovated rooms. The amenities are often closed. Management is mid. Appliances work. There’s nothing too good or too bad about these apartments. The biggest perk is the short walk to the hospital.

easy to move in without touring first

- coming from large city, this rent for 394 sq ft is unheard of -> great rent
- management is fairly active/responsive/chill, super helpful when I was moving in without viewing the unit
- amenities are passable: building laundry is well-maintained, storage lockers and mail are fine, "gym" is more just treadmills and ellipticals at present but I don't really care, *very* close to Feinberg
- pretty quiet overall

Great for convenience

5 min or less walk to school/hospital. Park and lake view are great. Continuing to renovate, which is both a pro and con. Thin walls. Highly recommend for 3rd year, maybe not as necessary other years I’d you want to be further. Prorated rent due to signing a 2 year lease, normally 1395.

Well maintained building

This is a very nice apartment, and BJB updated it even more. Good kitchen size and appliances. There’s even a dishwasher. No carpeted floors. Maintenance comes at a reasonable time. Gym and laundry room in building. Free internet is reasonably fast.

-Walls are thin so conversations and music travel
-Garbage chutes closed every weekend and holiday
-Lines for the laundry machines at peak weekend hours
-No dogs, fee for cat
-Packages are stored in a room that’s often unlocked, very disorganized piles form at certain times of the year. But they do mostly make their way onto shelves by floor.

Apt review

Pros: close to school, close to lakeshore park and trail access

Cons: extremely small living space, can hear neighbors at almost any time through thin walls

Good for the price

Overall my experience has been good. Management has been helpful and I have not really run into problems with noise, etc. Almost the entire building is studios/1Bs. My studio is on the small side, and there aren't a lot of amenities, but I feel it's worth it, considering that the rent is quite a bit less than other properties in Streeterville. One benefit is that for cat owners, you only have to pay a 1-time pet fee of $250 (no monthly pet rent). It's also one block away from the Northwestern campus which is really convenient.

244 E Pearson/BJB review

Rent is really expensive, studio is a small size. Incessant construction going on. Only plus is that the apartment is in a quiet part of streeterville and the building itself is a 2 min walk away from campus

Perfect location for Feinberg, almost feels like a small slice of a college town because so many of your neighbors will be students, residents, nurses, etc at the hospital. You do get sirens fairly often depending on where you live since the emergency room is very close. The neighborhood doesn't have too many restaurants/bars but it is walking distance to River North and Gold Coast and the rest of the city is easily accessed by public transport. Much safer than most neighborhoods in Chicago.
Streeterville is a very nice neighborhood. There are plenty of parks and grocery stores. There is some late night crime due to the location downtown and close to the beach, but overall nothing worse than anywhere else.

There are some more expensive restaurants and fast food places. Navy Pier attracts a lot of tourists and they can be annoying to navigate around.
I enjoy living in Streeterville since it's near many of Chicago attractions without feeling overwhelming like in the Loop. I am able to walk around safely at night and I like going jogging in Millennium Park. My biggest complaint would be the lack of greenery in the area and how the city can feel a little bit insulating at times. Public transportation is great. This area is pricey, which is why I decided to have a roommate.
The Streeterville area was still pretty sleepy when I moved here three years ago. Since then, there has been an incredible amount of development. New luxury apartments and condos are going up, several new restaurants, a brand new target and Whole Foods. Its become a great place for professionals who enjoy living downtown, but without the club crowds in River North.
There are a few buses that are near by that help get residents down to the loop. Also it's pretty easy to walk around and the cross walks are pedestrian friendly. I'm always able to get around by foot and buses/trains. Streeterville is a very safe neighborhood and I've never felt unsafe walking around at night. The streets are well lit.
Noise is not usually too big of an issue in this neighborhood; it's pretty quiet at night.
There are multiple grocery stores nearby for multiple choices. Also there are a bunch of great places to eat so one will not get bored with options.
While on the expensive end in Chicago, streeterville is safe, has all the necessities (look for apts near grocery stores if you don't have a car!!), is super close to school (and most feinberg students so convenient for socializing), and is super close proximity to restaurants and bars.
This building is located in the center of everything you could possibly need. Whole foods and Jewel within walking distance, easy to get to the lake front, and plenty of good restaurants and bars. The only down side is that it does not really have a "neighborhoody" feel.
Love how close we are to the medical school, makes going to class really easy. A lot of students live in Streeterville so it is very easy to hangout with friends. There are also a few coffee shops in the neighborhood that are very fun to study at!
