My apartment
Rental in condo building from individual condo owner. Hardwood floors renovated in 2010, in unit laundry, extra storage space in basement, central air and heat, dishwasher. Right by shuttle stops and was very close to grocery before Treasure Island closed. Only downside is noise from the Promontory bar/music venue

Apartment Review
The only downside of the apartment is pretty thin walls. I have two roommates and one of the roommates' parents own the unit, so we rent from them. There's in-unit washer and dryer and central air, which is really nice, and the location feels safe and is very convenient to the campus shuttles, local grocery stores, and buses.

Hyde Park Reviews
I personally loved living close to campus, for access both to Harper Center and to the broader UChicago campus. I feel much more integrated with the rest of the university as a result of proximity and availability.
In short, there's enough going on in Hyde Park not to feel isolated, but it's far enough away from the city not to feel suffocated.
