Fine Apartment, Poor Communication from Management

I've been pleased with my studio. Kitchen and bathroom are modern, bathroom is about to be renovated. Good location--especially since I can see Fairway from my window.

Management company is strict and not good about communicating with residents. For example, all bathrooms are set to be renovated during Jan-June of this year, yet the only notice we received was a letter allegedly posted in December. Renovations have been going on since January and make for very noisy weekdays if working from home.

Super is great. Always there if I need him, very pleasant.

Living in Murray Hill means the occasional drunken lady tramping through the halls at 2AM and vomit-covered pavement during SantaCon, but for the most part the building is quiet, since it's on a residential block.

Laundry in building at $2.60 a load, about a 6 for cleanliness. Overall very happy to have my own space--can live with the downsides.

Great

I love this apartment. I get a view of the Empire State Building from my room or at least the top with the different colored lights each night. It's a few blocks away from the train station but I usually walk to wherever I need to go to the east side since that's where all the good spots are and I don't mind the extra walk to get to the west side. There is laundry and elevator which is convenient.

5 minute walk to Trader Joe's. Target in-building. Fairway 3 minute walk away. Several bars and restaurants nearby on Third Ave. 40 minute walk to Washington Square Park area. 10 minute walk to the closest subway (the 6), but there are bus lanes nearby. Incredibly close to two major hospitals (great during the COVID age, but lots of ambulance sirens).
Gramercy is awesome, lots of great restaurants and date spots. Easy to get EV for later in the night, or lower east via 4/5/6.
Many restaurants and groceries. Quiet and safe area.
See first thing I wrote. Kips bay/murray hill has a great bar and restaurant scene, very young. You don't really go out Friday/Saturday night here, not enough dancing type bars, but it's awesome for just about every other occasion. Central location for everywhere that you would go in any situation though.
East village is great because it is close to school with a great restaurant and bar scene. The only down side is that there are a few hospitals in the area, which means that there are a few more homeless people around than some other areas, especially during the summer, since they are often picked up and then discharged. It doesn't feel unsafe because of the homeless people, but it isn't the most pleasant part of the neighborhood.
Good neighborhood for living: Trader Joe's, Fairway, movie theater all within walking distance. Also close to NYU Langone hospital which is good for two reasons: can get to the hospital quickly if you're sick and it's right by the E line shuttle that NYU runs. Get to class in about 15 minutes without having to pay anything more.
PRO:
Safe area (next door to the Police Academy)
Pretty quiet neighborhood (3rd ave is not too noisy)
Close to actual Gramercy Park
1mi from campus
Many restaurants/bars close by, but not noisy on a Fri/Sat night

CONS
No do-it-yourself laundry nearby (wash and fold options close)
No actual access to Gramercy Park
Closest "large" grocery stores at Union Square (Trader Joes, Whole Foods)-not a problem per se, but expect them to be very crowded most of the time
The neighborhood is friendly and busy. The building is located between 5th Ave and Madison Ave so it's busy outside, but not too noisy throughout the night. There are a lot of restaurants and bars nearby and it is very conveniently located around multiple subway stops.
