Needs Improved Management
Taft Towers has steadily declined under new management. The HOA fees continue to rise year after year, justified by supposed increases in expenses and the need for repairs—yet, these repairs are never made. A prime example is the elevators, which remain in disrepair despite being cited as a reason for the rising fees. Instead of improving the building or maintaining its operations, it seems the funds are being funneled into the manager’s substantial salary.
It is unclear why the building requires an in-house manager who does little more than act as a gatekeeper. When residents seek assistance or have questions, the responses are often met with condescension or outright rudeness, offering no support to the community. Board meetings are rarely open to all residents and are seldom announced—only held once annually—suggesting that decisions are being made behind closed doors to further the interests of a select few rather than the entire Taft Towers community.
Despite increasing HOA fees, residents are receiving less and less in terms of service and quality of living. The building is not cleaned on a regular basis, particularly individual floors, which often appear dirty and uninviting. This neglect is likely to deter prospective buyers. Furthermore, the landscaping, once a highlight of the property, is being poorly maintained, with trees unnecessarily pruned or removed, incurring additional HOA fees for all residents.
These issues cannot continue without being addressed. However, with a secretive board and a domineering manager, it is unclear how residents can even begin to resolve these problems.

Great Price for Location
Really found a great deal, paid about $1100 for an apt just steps away from courthouse metro. Super easy for school and right on route 50 which was great since I have a car

Rosslyn Reviews
However, this has been a business district for ages. There is very little going on around here and many of the restaurants don’t even open on the weekends. But, that’s changing. So stay tuned!
(Also, I like living in Virginia because my vote counts for more here!)
If you have long legs, renting a bike is an option. If you are like me and 5'1'', renting a bike is an option for downhill rides.
There is a lot within walking distance in Rosslyn (think 20 min average from my apt): Barnes and Noble, shopping, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's (also on the Arlington loop shuttle from GU), public libraries, CVS, Target, Safeway, lots of restaurants.
Also close to dense populations of immigrant communities if you like Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean food.
Cons: Neighborhood shuts down after 5pm. Few restaurants in the neighborhood itself (this is getting better though). Concrete canyon effect because of the skyscrapers. Closest grocery store is an expensive Safeway.
