Great 2 bedroom 2 bathroom place
It is a nice building in a relatively quiet area that is a 15 minute walk to Rush, or a 5 minute walk to the Ashland stop for the green/pink line. The parking spot was included in our rent and the covered parking has been nice. This location is a short walk to a bunch of breweries.

2 beds / 2 baths
good units, terrible building
We currently rent a 2bed/2bath from a private landlord and the unit itself is really impressive. We have a complete kitchen with a breakfast bar, a large living room with a working fireplace, an outdoor patio, and two bedrooms with two baths (the master bedroom and bathroom are both very spacious for a Chicago apartment). Bathroom even has a double sink. Landlord is very responsive and reliable. We even have an indoor parking space included which comes in handy in the winter.
Unfortunately once you leave the unit, everything falls apart. The building exclusively recruits passive aggressive staff; the doormen will not let you get your own packages until after 6pm, and they will lose packages constantly due to disorganization; other times, they are extremely aggressive towards you for asking for a package since they then will have to look for it. The property management company is also very scummy -- they scheduled two move-ins on the same morning we did which completely ruined every involved party's move as there are only two elevators (and no freight elevator, so forget about moving in large pieces of furniture).
The neighborhood itself is not the safest, either. We routinely hear gunshots just outside our apartment once a month, and there are essentially no stores or restaurants within walking distance. The only positive thing I can say about the neighborhood is that you're within walking distance of United Center in case you like hockey or basketball, and you're relatively close to Union Park although even that park is too sketchy to visit in the evening. The nearest train and bus stations are also too far to be reliable.
