Riverhouse at Pentagon City
Very spacious living room. Extremely pet friendly. Maintenance staff are timely and friendly. Maintenance staff do a very good job of keeping the building clean and outside area well-kept. Parking is reasonable. Rooms are a good size. Rent is reasonable for the area and location.

Not going to get any more bang for your buck than at the RiverHouse
Tons of space. Great views. Only downside is it isn't within walking distance of school. But, door to door, commute takes about 30-35 minutes on average.

Small but friendly
Riverhouse apartments may be a little old and small, but the management and tenants are quite friendly and helpful! Could not ask for a more convenient location - the metro, shops, and grocery store are a 2 minute walk away. Also, the apartments are very pet friendly!

Good place to live in DC
Riverhouse apartments has provide a good place to live in the DC area. While there aren't too many places for a young person to go out in the area, the apartment is metro accessible (especially to DC) and there are lots of places for shopping in walking distance

A little of everything
Living at the Riverhouse has a lot to offer. Tranquil space with 38 acres of land and amenities while still being across the street from Shopping in Pentagon City and metro access. The insulation on the Apt's is great. I rarely ever hear neighbors. Riverhouse has great balance if you don't mind being outside of the popular areas. Overall my experience there has exceeded my expectations!

A great, quiet place to live and relax
I love living at Riverhouse! I was able to snag a great deal on a relatively spacious studio, it's very quiet in my apartment, and management is very professional. Right now they're doing lots of renovations, so it's a great time to get in before everything is done being upgraded. The Pentagon City area is great - it's a very different, calmer vibe than DC, and still has restaurants, the Pentagon City mall, and the Harris Teeter store, among other retailers, steps away.

Great if you have top view and no laundry
We have loved living at Riverhouse for years. But when it comes down to it it's expensive for what you get in your actual apartment. We were lucky enough to have an awesome view of the DC skyline...until the trees grew even more. There is no balcony but a lovely roofdeck. The pool is great and they are renovating the gym, which is only crowded at peak hours. However, the prices for two bedrooms are astronomical compared to comps in the neighborhood. Kitchens are tiny galley kitchens, though the gas stove is nice. The killer is no in-unit laundry, which is a common amenity in most buildings around Pentagon and Crystal City. Maintenance is quick and friendly, plenty of parking but the prices keep going up. Guest parking used to be free, but now that's no longer true either, leaving you feel a little nickel and dimed for something so easy to remedy, but I guess revenue is revenue even though these little charges and monetizing what were once small free perks has left a bad taste to us.

Riverhouse Apartments
It's a nice place that gives you walking distance to grocery stores, shopping mall, restaurants, Costco, etc. The rent is OK considering the location. The only thing is the traffic. It takes me 30 minutes to go to work and 60 minutes to come home on average.
This is a pet friendly place, and my neighbors are nice. Management is OK, and they respond to repair requests quick promptly.
Overall I love this place, I got a nice view that I can take a look at the D.C. clearly from my window. No complains so far.

Spacious for a studio, metro accessible and near great social area
Decent sized apartment for the price (570 sq ft), which is high due to proximity to Pentagon City metro and Pentagon Row attractions. I appreciate the 24 hour concierge and 24 hour gym. Pet friendly! The apartment complex is chalked for expansion...

Older building, but very convenient
The James's location in Pentagon City is very convenient to the Metro, Harris Teeter, and other retail and restaurants, and the convenience is this building's best attribute. The building is older (1958) but has undergone substantial renovations to the common areas in the last few years. There are newer and more luxurious buildings in the neighborhood, but the convenience of the James is unmatched.

Pentagon City Reviews
For the metro, the ride itself is about 20 min. I just budget in extra time for walking and not wanting to arrive just on time. It shouldn't take 45 minutes to get to school unless they're doing maintenance. Then, add 10 minutes.
There is not a lot of green space, unless you count Long Bridge "Park", which is a dead-end, cement "bridge" that looks over soccer and baseball fields with some views of D.C.
Pros:
-Very metro-accessible (blue/yellow, so can get into the city in multiple directions if there are delays)
-Walkable - easy to get to grocery store, Pentagon City mall, library, restaurants, etc. within minutes
-Quiet and safe, and generally well-lit in the evenings
Cons:
-I'd like to see a few more restaurant options. There are good casual dining options, like Naked Pizza, California Pizza Kitchen, and the mall food court, but besides Bonefish Grill there's not much a step up from that.
-I don't feel much sense of community, and don't know my neighbors. Not as diverse-seeming as other parts of DC.
