Neighborhoods to live in

Living anywhere in Adams Morgan, Columbia heights or Lanier heights is the best. They are all neighborhoods between Georgetown and Washington Hosptial Center and they are near the entrance to rock creek park, allowing easy access to get into Virginia via highway. Lots to do. Near multiple bus and metro stations. Lots of food near by.

Good apartment building

The apartment complex is good and in a great location. You have access to a downstairs gym and some meeting/study spaces. The maintenance team is very responsive which is great. Good community. I had to get a studio so I was focused on somewhere with a good layout and good but separate kitchen space. Argonne was one of the only places with a good kitchen in a studio.

Argonne Studio -- Pretty good

I have lived in the argonne for about 7 months - you get a decent amount of space (500 sq feet) and the amenities are great. However, the building is "redone" and they cut some corners. Overall, the argonne offers alot of amenities -- gym, pool, common space, in building laundry (in basement and on every floor). They are very dog friendly which was a huge plus for me and the front staff are very friendly and always remember your name and apartment number!

Great location and service

The Argonne is a great location and has all of the amenities you need - pool, elevators, doorman, and very quick service on any maintenance issues. Other amenities (gym, etc) are certainly not luxury, but I overall have had a nice experience. I know that the management are improving some apartments one by one which may increase price. Management company itself can be difficult to deal with - just make sure that you do all of your paperwork for move in OR move out and you will be just fine. I think they just have many tenants and struggle to keep up. That said maintenance was always extremely prompt and satisfactory, even pest control.

Great place to live

The location is perfect, sandwiched between Adam's Morgan and Columbia Heights. The metro is close, as are over 10 bus lines. There are many great restaurants nearby. The staff is always beyond friendly, and we love having them here to help out when things come up. Currently, there's a lot of construction going on, so the amenities are less available than normal, and sometimes the laundry room is unavailable (due to construction). When it's all up and running, it's easy to have a full and productive day without ever leaving the building (gym, laundry, pool, store and restaurant all available).

Location and pool are great. Neighbors and management not so much.

Management company has changed 4 times in my 4 years. Ongoing construction everywhere that is no where near complete (might be living in a giant asbestos trap). Apt itself is perfect for a busy lifestyle - but building ALWAYS smells like pot. Everywhere.

Generally happy with my apartment

I've largely been happy with living in this apartment building. I had a disagreement with the office staff following the intake of a new roommate. Additionally they were not always very prompt about responding to emails about our questions or concerns.

Front desk staff is wonderful as is the maintenance team.

The Best in ADMO: The Argonne

I love this building! It's actually the best. Very secure, close enough to the fun part of ADMO for walking convenience, far enough that you can't hear the children screaming their drunken heads off on the weekends. The zoo is close by, we have a pool and a gym, the park's across the street, and for DC the rent is exceptionally reasonable. Management and my leasing agent (Rosemary Tran) are the loves of my life. Love to love to love this building!

Happy with my Building

I am extremely happy with the Argonne and my past year here. I unfortunately will be moving out for the shear fact that I need to save money, and can no longer afford my apartment in the building. If my financial situation was different, I would stay in a heart beat!

Adams Morgan Reviews

I love living in Adams Morgan. There are so many parks, recreational centers, bars, and restaurants. Whenever friends want to get together, I never have to go far. I also love that there are not many chain amenities, so you’re really supporting local businesses. The night life can lean a little toward the younger college crowd, but it’s also easy to head toward DuPont or U St if you’re looking for something a little different.
Great cafes and restaurants and amazing night life. Not close to a metro stop.
1818 Riggs is situated in the northern Dupont Circle neighborhood, immediately surrounded by residential buildings but within walking distance of Connecticut Ave NW, 18th St NW, and 14th St NW. Very hospitable and convenient for all amenities needed.
Great mix of tree lined streets with pretty old brick homes and restaurants, coffee shops, nightlife, etc. Near Rock Creek Park for an escape from city life and exercise. Near the zoo for fun time off. Convenient quality grocery stores within walking distance (Harris Teeter, Safeway, etc.). Dog park down the street. Families with children playing outside into the evening.
Adams Morgan has a great mix of families and young professionals, which means blend of coffee shops, grocery stores, and restaurants and bars. The neighborhood looks incredibly different in day vs. at night -- so has something for everyone. Public transport isn't ideal (no metro stop and not a ton of buses) but is a great place to live and can get most places in the city pretty easily.
Like I said before, it is a really active and full part of town with a lot going on. I've come across several families who live in my building alone, and overall (besides some of the chaos that happens up in AdMo come the weekend) it's a great and safe area to live in.
Adams Morgan is a great neighborhood. There are shops and restaurants in the heart of the neighborhood. Everything is walking distance. It’s reasonably safe. There’s access to public transportation.
Adams Morgan is incredible for bars and restaurants. There is always something happening in the neighborhood. On the weekends it overflows with people coming in for a fun night.
