Very bad maintenance
Although the maintenance is replies back for the mail, the time they deal with the issues is very slow.
Also the radiator won't work unless the temperature drops below 35 degrees, and it will be turned off when the temperature goes up again.
Very very poor maintenance, very very old building.
My packages got stolen few times and even though I've talked to the property manager, he has done nothing except replying back to my mails.
Won't recommend to anyone who was looking to rent this apartment.

Not sure the I would renew my lease
The apartment is pretty decent for an older building. It definitely isn't accessible for those who need accommodations (no elevator, three floor walk up). I have a southern facing unit which is great for my plants, but that doesn't come with every unit. The fixtures are in need of updating. The neighborhood hasn't been upgraded for ATT fiber internet, so you're stuck with Spectrum for that utility, which you are responsible for on your own. I think my biggest qualm with the building is the cost of laundry. There are units in the building but they are expensive and not always operational. Management isn't great about mitigating issues in a timely fashion. However, there is no security deposit, just a $300 nonrefundable reservation deposit.

Perfectly Fine
I didn't have any problems with this apartment. Maintenance was pretty responsive. The only issue is that you don't have any control over the heat, b/c it's radiator heat controlled by the building. But in this middle of winter it was a bit too hot, which is better than too cold. The $300 non-refundable deposit (instead of a security deposit) is worth it if you want to paint, hang lots of things, or just not have to think about cleaning for move-out. Was about two block from a bus stop and a 17 minute walk from a metro stop.

Not a bad price for the quality and neighborhood
I love my street, it’s a beautiful part of CWE and I like that it’s a dead end. The building is a little older, without any amenities (except coin-op laundry in the basement), but it’s beautiful. The apartment itself is spacious for a studio, but the kitchen (no dishwasher) and bathroom (door cannot close when toilet seat is down) are both tiny. Rent is inclusive of all utilities except internet/cable, and that’s great when you want to blast the AC all summer or jack the heat during the winter. During the summer months the AC unit is on and acts like a white noise machine, but without AC I can hear everything from neighboring units and in the (quite echoey) hallway. Maintenance is always quite responsive to requests. Pet fees are a monthly rent, not a refundable one-time payment.

Not a Great Place ot Live, But its Affordable for CWE
The neighbor chain smokes, things break constantly, and the water has not been properly hot for weeks now. I will say it is pest free, quiet, and safe.
