Unsanitary Living Conditions!
The valet trash pickup at Casa Vera is a disaster. When you sign your lease, you’re provided with a paper listing when to put trash out, days that trash is picked up, and holidays that your trash won’t be collected. Some residents do not follow this schedule and trash up the halls for days at a time on occasion. I have reported this several times and have gotten ignored by the office the last two times.
This past incident included a resident putting their trash out late on July 3 so it sat and festered in the 100 degree heat for 4 days straight. The halls ended up being cluttered with bags everywhere. A lot of residents don’t use the provided trash receptacles so the trash leaks out onto the hallways which is then tracked back into your apartment. It’s so bad I won’t even let my dog walk through the first floor because I don’t want her walking through the trash stains. There are other people that do use their trash cans but leave them out 24/7 and throw the trash beside the can.
There is supposed to be a $50 fine per day that your trash receptacle is out and yet the office allows this to occur without any repercussions. All it does is trash up the halls and makes the community look trashy. It’s disgusting that the residents that follow the guidelines are made to walk past dirty trash cans all day, everyday.
For the price of rent, this is absolutely unacceptable. You can’t even get your mail without walking through trash stains that have leaked onto the brick. The halls are never pressure washed so the stains just continually accumulate into years of germ-infested stains.
I’m tired of this issue persisting and me continually getting ignored when this is absolutely repulsive. I have had one of the leasing agents look me dead in the eye and tell me they fine people who violate this rule but the residents just pay it and continue to leave their trash out. One apartment has had her trash can out for over a year! You cannot seriously tell me she has been fined $18,250 and actually paid it.
I am now looking into contacting the health department or the county because no one should be made to walk past/through filth due to lazy, entitled residents who think they can do what they want.
If you are considering moving to Casa Vera, I would suggest you take your money elsewhere and live somewhere that is not unsanitary and as unkempt as this property.
