Expensive, but a nice place to live
I like the Palmer. If you have a car it is only a 10min drive to the Gables campus with no traffic, but it is a moderate walking distance to the metro rail, so if you do not mind walking, you do not need a car to live there. It is expensive, and sometimes the dog friendly property means lazy owners don't clean up after their pets, but usually staff takes care of messes within a few hours. The building sometimes feels like a hotel and my room has floor to ceiling windows (which can make it hot during sunrise but my fan helps). The concierge for my building (East) has always been very helpful.

Expensive, but nice
I like living at the Palmer. It is close to the metrorail for a 20-30min ride to the Med campus, and only a 10-15min drive to the Gables campus. The building sometimes feels like a hotel, and my room has nice floor to ceiling windows with plenty of natural light. My only complaints are how hot my room gets (just my room, not the rest of the apartment) and how the dog-friendly property sometimes enables dog owners to let their dogs go where people can step in it. There are grassy areas for them to go in, there just seems to be little enforcement against going on the sidewalks. The concierge for my building (East) has always been very helpful and there are good food options nearby, especially with the constant food trucks on the property and Dadeland Mall next door.

Great Place
The Palmer is a very nice place to live. Calm and pleasant surrounding neighborhood that puts you near US1 and the metro. The building itself is always very clean and maintenance is very helpful and quick. The rent is very expensive (as expected of a luxury building) and elevators could operate a bit more smoothly. Leasing office is impossible to reach over the phone, you must go in person. Besides that, a great place to be!

Great value
Good for commuting to UM, close to metro station as well. Parking is plentiful. Apartment is spacious. Common areas are well maintained. Plenty of community events if desired. Rooftop pool. Gym is a bit small. Number 2 elevator always seems to be down. Packages are delivered to a locker, but there is always overflow. Overall a good experience.

Great Apartment for the price/amenities
Love being in the Palmer for the large floorplan, amenities, price, management/concierge, etc. If you're okay being in Dadeland/traffic to get anywhere it is so worth it.

It’s been a good place to live in law school
The amenities and location (especially to campus) are great. It’s more suburban than brickell and everything you need is in close proximity. The maintenance team is pretty helpful and does repairs fairly quickly. The leasing office staff sucks and has since I have lived here. That is the main downfall of the place if you decide to live there. You have to contact them 5-10 times normally before you ever get a response. The building is implementing more residence events, food trucks are here nightly, etc so they are trying to improve the experience but the communication is not good.

How it should be
Highly recommend. Everything is of high quality. Close to Metrorail. Little far from entertainment options, but the value is worth it imo.
