Older building with charm, but lacks modern building amenities
I live in one of the oldest buildings in Adams Morgan. It's a charming building and our unit has 9 foot high ceilings and is just over 750 sq ft. Because it's an older building, and is a protected DC landmark, modern updates like changing the HVAC system or adding a rooftop deck is not permissible. Even with the "central air" running, in the middle of the summer, our unit averages 78 degrees F, which, in my opinion is too hot. We had to buy a separate air conditioning unit to cool off the apartment.
With that said, I do love the location of the building, as it's tucked away in the great neighborhood of Kalorama. I'm steps away from wonderful restaurants, and we're right across for a convenient bodega.
