Good value - cost ratio
I have lived at this apartment during my entire time at UC graduate school. It is one of the best cost-square foot ratios of the apartments of any of my peers. I have had a few maintenance issues which were promptly addressed. Management is cooperative and helpful. No major issues.
It is about a fifteen minute drive to downtown Cincinnati; and about a twelve minute drive to the Clifton campus. There is a bus stop immediately outside the property. There is ample parking for residents and guests. It is difficult to walk to any nearby restaurants/parks/etc; but there is much to do within reasonable driving or biking distance.
There is a small pool, which residents may invite up to two guests to attend. Not suitable for large parties, but very nice for a casual day of swimming and relaxing. There is a charming playground for children, and while there is a pet fee, pets are nevertheless welcome. Many units are equipped with fireplaces, which I regularly take advantage of. There are laundry units in building.
There are very thick walls; I almost never hear my neighbors.
Overall, I would happily recommend this apartment complex to any student. Nothing fancy, but perfectly suitable housing. I am very comfortable here.

Avoid if possible
The space itself is very suitable for broke students such as myself. Safe, good square footage to rent ratio, pet friendly, and even a nice pool. That said, there have been a host of maintenance issues, including AC and heat issues, water leaks in multiple rooms, and a flea infestation (and I don't even have a pet). Management was very responsive and professional in addressing these issues, but it was still frustrating to have to deal with while starting school.

Affordable and Nice Location
This is my second year living in this complex. The location is great - about 10 minutes from the law school and does not require taking any highways. The complex also offers a discounted rate for TV and internet through Cincinnati Bell. The front office is very friendly and resolves maintenance issues quickly. Parking is free for residents and all guests.

Montana Valley
The staff in the office are great. The worst part about the complex is that maintenance staff sometimes take a while to respond to maintenance requests.

Great Place to Live Away From Campus
Montana Avenue Apartment Complex offers many different styles and sizes of apartments ranging from 1 bedrooms to town homes. It is a quick 7 minute drive to campus and provides for a nice, peaceful environment away from school. This complex is a good choice for students who are not looking to live in walking distance from school, but still do not want a lengthy commute. Only downside is that sometimes maintenance can be slow, but the property office is good about following up with any issues that you may have.
