Great, but management is poor :(
The layout, location, price, and amenities of this location are all fantastic. The real downside is a lack of any sort of reprimand for problems in the community. This isn’t exactly abnormal for the Houston area, but has become problematic here because it has allowed for problems to escalate, like dogs that attack people (yikes), obvious drug usage on property and in units, and an overall degradation of the facilities and grounds.

Melia Medical Center
Overall, Melia is pretty decent for the price. It's about a 12 minute drive from campus. I will say that there has been issues parking, especially at night since you have to pay for a reserved spot. Every now and then, there will be some noise (i.e. yelling, music) but I've felt safe for the most part when living here. Management was a hassle when moving in, but maintenance has always fixed our issues within 2 days.

Bad management but good housing
The apt itself is nice but the management is really bad at communicating. Also they say that there is security but rarely do I ever see a guard.

Melia Medical Center Melia Mundo
It’s a very good apartment. I live and sleep there and sometimes put some adult films on the TV. Good privacy and very thick walls.

Good Complex
I felt safe as a female living alone here. Very close proximity to UHCOP and the Houston med center, about a 7 minute drive each way. Spacious apartment with updated appliances, and lots of closet space. Beautiful pool and the gym is nice and empty most of the time. My only complaint is there are not many good grocery stores or restaurants nearby in this location.

This is a perfect apartment for us
This apartment complex is one in a strip of a bunch of different apt complexes. Lincoln Property has 3 "sister complexes" Elle is highest rating, Melia is 2nd and Monarch 3rd. Elle has garages and imo is too expensive for what you are getting. Monarch has the cheapest price, but it wasn't for us (my roommate and I). Melia was the perfect fit. We live on the 3rd floor with all carpet, except the bathrooms and kitchen areas. There is no elevator (that may be a dealbreaker to some, we were fine with it). The maintenance crew is great. The front staff is great too, there are times when they are busy so it takes a while, but they'll get what you need done. The only things that bother me sometimes is hearing a train that goes by occasionally/cars that go by on the highway, and the parking situation. They don't have visitor parking (they have to park on the street outside the gate) and the parking inside is mostly for people who pay extra for their parking pass. Pool is great, gym is basic, and there is a little doggie park in the back!

The rent is worth it
The move-in part was not as smooth as expected due to some issues, but you can definitely prevent this problem by periodically checking up on the office (sometimes there might be miscommunication when they change employees). But other than that, my living experience here has been great. They have trash pickup service 5 days a week; the apartment itself is in a pretty good condition; it is a very quiet gated-community. Generally I feel safe here and it is very close to school (only takes about 15 minutes to get to school. It might take 20 or 25 minutes if traffic is super bad. But on average commuting time is 15 minutes). Another plus is lots of UHCOP students live here.

Towing frenzy
These people are crazy about towing your car. They’ll find any excuse to tow. I’ve been towed twice and was warned that I’d be towed again the day my registration expired.
Just as bad is the apartment location. The apartments are right off the highway so there is a constant drone of highway noise as loud as if you were actually driving at 60mph. It is absolutely obnoxious.
Management pretends to care about your concerns, but once you express issues they give very poorly thought out counter arguments that just frustrates the tenant even further.
Parking in general is awful, if you do not pay extra for a reserved spot you most likely will have to park far from your apartment or outside the community. There is an exception to this if you park closer to the highway side since there are more open spaces there, although you then have to deal with louder highways.
The apartment electric circuits are very outdated. Normal circuits today can handle several appliances without any issue. Here, if you plug in a vacuum or a heater or even have your printer turn on, expect to see your lights begin to dim and flicker.
