Hampton Greene is Ok
Although it seems pricey, Hampton Greene is not terrible! It is about the average price for the area, is only about 15 mins from campus, and is gated! It is right behind the Target on Garners Ferry and while not on campus, is easily accessible.

No Complaints Here
It's a good place to stay with gates for the community and very close to the school. Occasional fun community events. The area feels safe to me and I walk around alone often. Management has always been nice when I've needed anything.

would not recommend
An old apartment complex they patch up occasionally as cheaply as possible. Got a serious sinus infection the first month I lived there due to mold and a huge hole in the wall and management took 5 weeks to fix it (only did something when I threatened to get a lawyer involved). Lots of bugs, cracks in wall, water heater is rusty and moldy and constantly leaking. Just not a great apartment if you value your health and wellbeing. Also, you pay 80$ a month for a pool that is very, very rarely open (and only during business hours between June and August if it ever is) and small, dingy gym. You'll also get charged random fees with no explanation, which management will promise to take off (if you go down there, they don't respond to emails) and then you'll get charged again the next month.

Horrible Management
The apartment was dirty when I moved in, was given warning after I showed up despite asking to move in early and being told it wouldn't be ready until said day. Took them over a MONTH to fix the issues with the apartment (mold, 2'x3' holes in wall, unpainted, dirty carpet, etc) and the management does not respond to emails (ever) or phone calls. If you want to get in touch with them you have to go down to the office (only open 9-11, 1-5 on weekdays) and hope that there is actually someone there to talk to you. The apartment also constantly smells like cigarette smoke because of my downstairs neighbor. If I didn't have concerns about mold, my health, my safety, or anything else it would be a great apartment. Also, it is listed as a "gated" community, but the gates have only been functional for about a week out of the 6 months I've lived there. It is also just a very outdated apartment, but its functional and nearish things.

Good for pre-clinical years
You're only a 5 min drive away from the SOM which makes it very convenient for pre-clinical years. However, keep in mind you might want to move closer to the hospital during M3-M4. Perks included a gym, easy parking, gated community, pool, volleyball court. It's a very nice, quiet place to live just keep in mind garners ferry isn't the safest place to live so be cautious at night. Maintenance is AWFUL. They are incredibly slow, we had a broken AC in the summer which wasn't fixed for over a month so you'll have to bother them if you want anything done. They will also hit you with a lot of unnecessary fees when you move out so be ready.

Hampton Greene
This is a nice place. The management office is very attuned to the needs of a PhD grad student ( I had noisy upstairs neighbors, and management kindly asked them to keep quite hours quiet). This place is very expensive, but it is a gated community which I like. Like anywhere there are things about Hampton Greene I do not like, however the positives (this year) outweighed the negatives.

Hampton Greene
This apartment complex could not be in a more convenient location. On the drive to school I take two right turns and I'm on campus! Additionally, there is a sidewalk running straight from the complex to the Target plaza which is great if you like to walk and talk on the phone like me. The management is always quick to respond to questions and the maintenance team is always efficient and helpful. The buildings and facilities are not the newest, but everything is in good repair regardless! I will be living here again next year for sure.

Proximity and gate are the only reasons the score isn't a 1/10
Hampton Greene is far too expensive to be as low quality as it is, and the leasing agents/office staff are extremely incompetent. Do not live here if you have another choice, because you will end up wasting your time dealing with problems. Proximity to the medical school campus (and having a gated entrance) are the only benefits I have experienced with this place.
