6120 S Ellis Ave, Apt 2N
Floorboards look good, but they're very noisy when people walk around above. Management isn't always very timely with service requests, for instance when a dryer breaks. Also had a problem with the accuracy of representations about the terms of a renewal of the lease.

Very well situated for access to the law school and quite well situated for other university facilities such as the Ratner Athletics Center. Close also to Jewel-Osco.
Condo itself is well laid out and in good condition. Comes fully furnished and with all kitchen appliances and items, has a dryer and washing machine.
Whole building -- of six condos -- seems to be rented predominantly or exclusively to UChicago students. Sharing with students from outside the law school affords a good opportunity to get to know other people and get a break from law school rhythms.
Management is responsive and helpful.
Quite a good place to stay. Won't be as social as somewhere like Regents (where I've stayed before), but has cost and convenience benefits that could make it a better choice.

South of the law school = best
Great apartment. Extraordinarily nice. Far better than living in Central or Northern Hyde Park. Last year I was paying $725 for a crummy studio (DO NOT rent from Hyde Park Places). I am now paying about $800, including utilities (the guy with the master suite pays more per month). Brazilian cherry hardwood floors, fancy fridge, parking available for a pretty good price, everything works well, in-unit washer and dryer, central air, and more.
