Horrible management. Run
Building is falling apart. Robberies, irresponsible management who tried and failed to illegally evict me.

Close to campus, but that's about it
Management is slow to respond to service requests and unaware of issues unless hounded by residents via email. Management upped the rent by 25% in the past year. Overall, this is a quiet building with lots of fellow graduate/med students and has easy access to campus public transport, but the management is severely lacking.

Well maintained
This building is on the older side but Maintenence through the years seems to have kept up. Only grad and med students reside here. There’s plenty of room for storage (basement lockers and bike racks), no problems with repair request timeliness, and there are in-building laundry facilities. Super convenient location.

Old, but fine.
Twin Flags is a very old building so the floors creak, the heat isn't reliable, and there aren't many outlets. That being said, the previous owner kept the building under great care and was fast to respond to issues in my apartment.
Unfortunately the building just came into new management (as of December 2020) so it remains to be seen how decent the new owners are. Given that the new owners are located in Erie, PA, I have my concerns regarding the future management of the building.

2546 Kenilworth Rd
I like this place--it's a great value for the location and for the ability to live by yourself. I knew that when I got accepted into CCLCM that I wanted to try living by myself, and I definitely don't regret it. I'm close to other CCLCM students, the school, and grocery stores. It's pretty barebones for what you get (no fancy pool, rooftop bar, etc.) but I didn't really need that so it worked out well. I'd also recommend anywhere my landlord, Ed Crotty rents. He is generally very responsive and willing to help.

Review for Twin Flags
Building is older but well maintained, close to Cedar Rd and Coventry, easy access to public transportation, landlord is a good guy and receptive but you can only contact him by landline and fax machine

Hidden Gem
It’s a little bit on the pricey side but has been so worth it. The studio is surprisingly spacious and the apartment is updated. Amenities include a dishwasher and on-site laundry. Parking is $40 a month, so if you don’t have a car, you will pay a bit less. The landlord is very responsive and gets things done; although, he will sometimes just show up when you call for maintenance. No pet rent. There is a bit of a mouse problem, but my cat has caught a bunch.

Twin Flags studio
My experience here has been okay.
The positive: it's a great size for a studio, kitchen is on the modern side and has a dishwasher. Huge walk in closet. Quiet building. Clean laundry room (coin operated) and storage room on first floor of the building. City parking lot right next to building and landlord will get you a permit. Feels safe. Walking distance to CWRU health campus and also right by shuttle and bust stops.
The negative: ALWAYS freezing in the winter, be prepared to create your own heat with space heaters (radiators in the apartment can't be controlled). Fuses blow easily when several things are plugged into outlets; you have to buy and manually replace the fuses. Parking is an additional $38, gas is $15, water is $14 every month. You pay your own electric.
The apartment was not cleaned before I moved in and there was mold and dead bugs in the refrigerator when I arrived. The landlord responds promptly to complaints, but is not always helpful. For example, he had a cleaner come over to clean out the fridge but she was not able to get all of the bugs out, and he did not do anything further (the bugs are still there to this day). He fixed a problem with my toilet, but in doing so created another problem that I had to fix myself. Older building and it shows in some places (rusty radiators, chipped paint, water stains on bathroom ceiling, etc).

Great first apartment.
Overall great first living-along experience. Apartment is not huge (have seen other 1 BDs slightly more spacious) but definitely big enough for 1 person. For how old the property is, it is generally well kept and maintained. I particularly like the layout of my apartment and it gets a lot of natural lighting, even has some stained glass windows for character. My unit is on the 3rd floor and so I get a great view of the cemetery and the surrounding area. Temperature is adjustable and always comfortable. Shuttle pick-up is literally right out front.
Location is ideal being just a 15 minute walk to campus, and a 10 minute walk from Coventry Rd. I'm also right across the cemetery which may seem weird but actually makes for a good view and a good running spot.
The landlord definitely takes care of his tenants although you will probably never see him again after your move-in date.
Among the downsides (and as with all multi-floor apartment buildings), you can sometimes hear the tenant(s) above you stepping around, but overall the unit is very quiet and with minimal disturbance. Parking lot is a 1 min walk away. There is no elevator (which made move-in a little more work), but that's a minor complaint -- it keeps me active!
