Great!
Pretty good location, great apartment overall, never have any maintenance issues. One issue is the lack of sunlight for many of the apartments in this complex, but it’s manageable

Great experience and access to amenities
The apartment is conveniently located within walking distance of public transportation to campus, groceries, pharmacy, restaurants, shops, and other services such as a bank, gym, post office, and local libraries. If you enjoy the outdoors, the complex is located near hiking and biking trails. University housing also includes access to the campus shuttle. Maintenance is quick to respond to issues. The staff will periodically host events for residents of the building. I've enjoyed living in graduate housing and it made it affordable to live in the neighborhood.

2 bed/2 bath in 3767 Mentone Ave
I feel lucky that I was randomly placed on the top floor of the Mentone building facing the street. My apartment gets sunlight, is facing a tree, and has high ceilings from being on the top floor. I have found that I have ample storage space inside my bedroom for my things. The kitchen is a little small for two people: my roommate and I can definitely not cook at the same time. The R12 bus and U4 shuttle can both take me to school on the weekdays, and are just on the corner of Venice Blvd. Downtown Culver City is in walking/biking distance, and I like the area that the apartment is in. Overall, I enjoy the space, but I know it is not a universal experience living at Mentone Ave.

Great Apartment
Love how spacious the apartment is. Wish there were more windows. The area is a little hectic, but it's not a big of a deal.

Review of Mentone apartments
The apartment is spacious and a great price for the size and location. The amount of natural light varies greatly from apartment to apartment. There's public transport and a university shuttle close by. There's also a community garden, outdoor gym, and shared grilling area. All of these are super nice. Laundry is on the floor but it's paid. There is a bike rack in the garage but it's clearly not safe for bikes as it's litterered with broken locks. It does feel a bit like a dorm/hotel with swiping in and out. The floors are a laminate hardwood and were quite dirty upon moving in. Housing was very responsive and came back and re-cleaned them, but even after that, furious swiffering, and a heavy duty steamer, they still can't get clean/turn your feet/socks dirty very quickly. There is basically no natural light in our unit. We also face the entry to the floor so it's kind of a fishbowl if we have our blinds open/there's not much privacy.

Cheap but loud
The apartment is very nice, modern, in a safe building. Rent is VERY cheap (965/person with your own bedroom and bathroom) for such an apartment. The only downside is that it’s facing a Boulevard and the windows are absolutely not sound proof. I can still hear the cars with earplugs. If you need absolute silence to sleep, this will be an issue. The windows are also facing a tree so we don’t get much sunlight but it’s not as big of a deal as I thought it would be in the beginning.

Disappointing
The building itself seems secure enough but packages get stolen from the front mailbox room more often than not.
Also, b/c the building is close to Venice, it's very noisy and high pedestrian/car traffic.

UCLA Graduate Student Housing - South Campus
I highly recommend the UCLA Graduate Student Housing on the "south campus." I love living in the Keystone-Mentone apartments. It was very easy to transition from living in New York to attending law school in LA.
