A little pricey but nice

The apartment is a little small and doesn't have a private outside area. However, it has free parking, nice neighbors and is safe. It also allows pets. I am within walking to Vanderbilt and Peabody, so the price seems about right.

2121 Fairfax Ave #14

My landlord (who owns apartment #14) is wonderful and super responsive. I've had a few plumbing issues and they've been very helpful.

But, the complex is an HOA owned by two majority investors. The biggest issue is laundry; there's an outside basement/crawlspace for the building with laundry machines but they've been broken for almost a year because they didn't want to spend any money fixing the machines. Allegedly they should be replaced soon with new machines that will accept cards (not free, but at least they will no longer require quarters). Some of the units in the complex have their own in-unit laundry, so not all of them would be using these machines anyway.

Also my apartment is a corner apartment opening into an outside hallway, so there's no natural light in the living room area.

Most of the other apartments in the complex have multiple pets.

Affordable 1bdr

The apartment is great and my landlord is extremely nice and responsive. My biggest issue is laundry — the machines are in the outside crawl space /tornado shelter which is very dilapidated and creepy. But that’s why the rent is so low, and for me it’s worth it.

Great Apartment for a Grad Student

My apartment is a perfect size for 1 person with nice appliances and my landlord is great. It’s about a 20 minute walk to Vanderbilt which isn’t too bad except for in the summer. The only con to this apartment complex is the walls are exceptionally thin. I can hear people talking in their apartments when its really quiet.

Columns-Natchez Village

It is a good sized apartment but when it is cold there is literally a breeze throughout. The windows are incredibly leaky and the door has a giant crack in it that will never be fixed. I can see sunlight through the cracks around/on the doors. The electric bill is insanely high and the HVAC system breaks at least once per year. Has had several leaks. Location is very ideal to walk to campus. Parking is plentiful.
