Indie Apartments
Overall very good setup in a trendy neighborhood for the price. The apartment is nice - big bedroom and nice bathroom/closet, but smaller living space - and amenities are about average for this type of building. I am in a courtyard unit that doesn't get great light, but has large windows so it doesn't feel too dark. No in unit washer/dryer but a shared laundry room on every floor. Management is nice and has been accommodating and prompt in addressing maintenance requests.
Love the location, but I also like being closer to my social life and a little further from school. I bike to the law school and its about 20 minutes each way. If being close to school is important this might be a little too far for you - especially since parking is pretty expensive and there aren't any realistic ways to get to the law school using public transportation.

Affordable Furnished Units in East Austin
I love my apartment complex. I wanted to live within 10 minutes of the school, but also not directly across the street so that I could separate my personal life from my academic life. I enjoy living at the Indie because it comes furnished and everything is very new and modern. I also wanted an indoor hallway that leads into my apartment because safety is a concern for me. There are over a dozen food trucks and just as many restauraunts, half a dozen coffee shops, and a few grocery stores within walking distance. It is definitely pricy and sometimes I feel like the cost is not worth it whenever its finals season and I am confined indoors, but I love being able to open my balcony doors and hear live music. Note if you want quiet - this is definitely not the place! I frequently buy ear plugs whenever I have a busy week and it is excessively loud outside.
