Chase Village
We like it. Sometimes the road we live on, Kinsrow Ave., is a little bit chaotic/unsafe.

Crazy Expensive, Poor Front Desk Staff
The apartment itself is nice, and there are a few amenities (pools, gyms, dog park, basketball/volleyball courts, etc.), but the staff working in the office are never on the same page. We had a multi-month long issue getting my lease renewed because I had a new roommate, and at one point, they had lost their renewal offer after I had signed it.
Additionally, they renew ALL leases in November regardless of when you signed your lease. (ex., if you sign your lease in October for 1 year, you'll be asked to renew for the following year one month later). If you don't renew, your rent is guaranteed to go up. It's gone up $50 a year every year that I've been here. The longer you wait to renew, the more rent will increase. They claim that rent is calculated on "market price". They offer a month-to-month option but it is incredibly more expensive than base-rent.
Rent is insanely expensive and does NOT include utilities or electric. You get 1 free parking space per unit and all the other cars must find guest parking. Utilities are not a per-unit cost, but a per-building. So, if your neighbors use more utilities, you get charged more too. There is no way to opt out of this billing plan, to my knowledge.
Kitchen appliances are a bit outdated but functional. Maintenance has almost always gotten back to us in a reasonable amount of time.
The area is nice, but is hell to navigate around football season. You'll have to plan out your days when there's a game at Autzen because the traffic gets so horrendous. They will also post security guards at the entrance and turn away people without parking passes. This has created an issue for me when I have guests coming to visit and not going to the game. I had to play telephone with the front office, my friend, and the security guard just to let her into the complex. The security guard also falsely told my friend her car would get towed during the game, which the front desk informed me wasn't true.

Maybe not the best place for a family, but we are happy nonetheless. There were fleas in the apartment when we moved in which sucked.

Fine
It’s fine, the place is a little stuffy and it was pretty haphazardly rented to us. a good amount of issues when we moved in that we’re just never sorted. Main issue is that it’s over the river from the university.

Good apartment / Little overpriced
The apartment itself is dated and in some conditions a little wacky when it comes to some thing - and it's kinda far for social activities at the school (hard to simply walk to school). Management is responsive though and quick to fix stuff they messed up.

Not the worst, not the best
My roommate and I are both from out of state, so finding an apartment was not the easiest task before we moved here. Chase Village was one of the more accessible options since the law school starts so much earlier than the rest of UO. A lot of apartments wouldn't let us move in as early as August, but Chase Village had no issues with it. The apartments are pretty spacious, they put in new carpeting, and the kitchen has a ton of counter space. It's not the nicest place I've lived in, but I think it's a great option to live close to Autzen, close-ish to campus (it's a 10 minute drive, tops), and not pay too much in rent. The biggest issues we've had is with really noisy neighbors. Keep in mind that this is mostly student housing, so a lot of parties and inconsiderate undergrads can be really loud. However, we've had great experiences with the nighttime courtesy officer, who has gotten neighbors to quiet down when they're too loud. I think Chase Village is a great place for 1L while you get used to the area. (It's also important to mention that none of the buildings at Chase Village have central air conditioning. This may not be a surprise for anyone who has lived in Oregon before, but my roommate and I were shocked to find that out when we moved in. Once we bought window air conditioners, though, it was not a big deal at all.)

Few issues, but great leasing office
When I first moved here, they gave me a date, but the apartment wasn't ready. This was frustrating however they let us stay in their model home which was a great help. We had a few issues with our apartment but they have been quick to fix and tend to everything. The leasing office is very helpful as well. You can't beat the price for the size of the place. It includes one carport but 2 cars are permitted to park within the complex.
