Redmont Townholmes
Love being in a townhouse instead of an apartment so it’s quiet and private for my husband and I. It’s also in downtown Homewood and very walkable, close to campus and a low crime area.
However, they are small and older so they don’t have “bells and whistles”. We do have valet trash but they’re not consistent.

Great and Affordable
I have had a great experience in my townhome. I am able to live in a 2 story, 2bd 1ba apartment for less that most studios or 1bds are in Birmingham. My apartment is right by the Vulcan, so I am only 7 minutes or so from campus. I have had a great experience with maintenance, and have never felt unsafe in my home.

Review of Homewood heights apartments
Great location, affordable, close to school. Management is top notch and the reason I chose this apartment. Always attentive to my needs.

Homewood Townhomes- Solid and you get what you pay for.
I was looking for a 1 bd/1ba that was affordable and a close drive to the hospital. I found it in these townhomes. They are right under Vulcan, a close 5-8 min drive to UAB and within walking distance to downtown Homewood. I love the convenience of being able to zip to school really quickly but also be in a neighborhood where I can walk to restaurants, shopping, coffee, and run around safely as a woman.
The townhomes themselves are old (built in the 60s) but maintenance is helpful and quickly available if needed. My husband and I are comfortable here for the grad school years but do wish we had more storage and an updated bathroom and kitchen to have a little more space. We also wish we had amenities like gym or pool access, but the lack of them makes the rent much cheaper and I've used UAB's gym a lot. Management is super kind but is hesitant to replace things as they describe the apartments as "well loved." However the pros outweigh the cons and I've enjoyed living here!
