Quiet complex in a great location

The Tuckaway complex is fairly large, but has lots of trees and privacy for each unit. All sorts of people live here from new families, retirees, to graduate students, so it is very quiet. The complex is very walkable and residents are always outside walking dogs or socializing. Management and maintenance are all very helpful, kind, ,responsive, and have a vested interest in taking care of residents and their units. I've never had to wait more than 24 hours for maintenance to come fulfill a request.

The apartment units themselves are very well constructed with thick walls and floors to prevent noises from neighbors. Fixtures and cabinets are updated and made of good materials that are built to last. The windows are large but well made, so you can enjoy the sunlight without ruining your energy bills. Closets are very large and the bedroom and living room have built in shelving and storage. All units are furnished with a small TV and gas fireplace. Units also come with an alarm system that management will program for you, as well as very sturdy locks and doors.

My only compliant is that all communication with management is done on paper and you must pay rent with a check. There is an online portal for maintenance requests, but otherwise all the paperwork is done on paper. However, management is more than willing to mail paperwork to you and communicate via phone/email as much as possible.

Tuckaway Apt.

The complex is only 3-5 min from Green Hall! It’s very quiet, very homey and spacious. The staff are a little lazy but will get stuff done with a little push

Nice Apartment Unit, Bad Company

Tuckaway has great apartments and will respond quickly to maintenance requests, but the grounds are not taken care of. The people who run the office send long emails, but don’t maintain the property.

Great Apartments especially with location, and managment

Tuckaway has a great location being directly on 6th st and near Iowa. It is only a couple of minutes away from campus, which has been great during the pandemic, and only about five minute drive to down town. The management is excellent who always quickly respond back any questions or maintenance requests. The look of the entire complex is very nice and clean, and has two pools and a well equipped gym. The actual apartments are nice, with walk in closets and a hall closet. There is also additional shelving above the washer and dryer and in the bathroom, so there are plenty of storage options. Been very happy here for last 2 years.

Quiet complex, 1-3 bedrooms, many families

I have lived at Tuckaway for 4ish years now, and it is a fantastic apartment complex for grad students who want a quiet neighborhood.

Pros:

- great management

-very quick maintenance response time

-Large 1 bedroom

-allows dogs both large and small (& cats) with pet rent and deposit

-quiet neighborhood

-I have seen the management make accommodations for people with physical disabilities (i.e. changes to porch, blue parking spot reservations added)

-only a 5 minute walk to the grocery store

-clean outside, lots of prompt landscaping, sidewalk repairs every year, and multiple trash pickups during the week

Cons:

-small parking spots

-not super close to a bus stop (5 minute walk) if you require that

-can be somewhat tough to get out of the neighborhood at rush hour times

I will mention there are also 2 & 3 bedroom apartments available as well, and I have seen many families in the neighborhood too. There are also 2 free pools in the neighborhood, and you can pay an optional $15/month for the on-site gym.

Tuckaway Apartments (1 bed, 1 bath)

I love the apartment I live in, the only downside is the cost. Internet is not included and neither is the gym. internet is about $50 a month and the gym is $15. The apartments are clean and relatively updated and the people that live in the complex are very friendly.
