Verano Review
Close to campus and transit but everything is a 15 minute drive away.

Best you'll find as a graduate student - but not perfect.
It's fine. Works well for graduate students.
Upsides: Very spacious, nice community to be in, the property is kept up very well. There's a pool and small onsite gym, a nearby park, close to campus (5-10 minute drive) and a very short walk (one block) to a grocery store and restaurants.
Downsides: Poor insulation and moisture needs to managed to avoid mold. Walls are thin, but not more so than any other apartment.

Good Property
The property is nice, but rent is really expensive. It’s hard to find a place where you have your own bedroom without having to share, which is important as a grad student.

Verano Condominium
Great price, but each unit is owned separately. Nice interior with above-average space. Our unit doesn't get much light, but other units are better positioned. The HOA is a pain; they get mad about every little thing that doesn't fit with white affluence.
Amenities include 2 pools, small gym, internet cafe, and grills. The complex is connected to a wonderful park. Very close to 201/202 bus stop.

Verano Complex. Private landlord.
Live in a 2b2b condo with 1 housemate. Each of us get a 1b1b, effectively. The complex is run by an HoA, which means there are restrictions(!). But the complex is quiet. There are 2 garage parking spots, and 202 bus route nearby to campus. Got a private landlord, so cheaper prices and more attentive to things breaking down, but higher (1 month) security deposit. Also ok for pets. Overall would highly recommend renting with private landlords. Mention you're a grad student intending to stay for many years, and mine hasn't even increased rent.

Best place around UTC for two people
The walls are very thin and the shelves in the kitchen are very short (hard to fit taller food items, like a bottle of oil for instance), but it's a great place for the price. There's a washer and dryer in-unit, a lot of storage space, and it's a very comfortable apartment. The pool and grill areas are nice places to invite friends. After reviewing a lot of other places in the UTC area, my roommate and I decided this was the best out of all of them.

ok community
spacious unit, assigned parking + adequate guest parking spots, gym before covid was nice, clean and not too crowded. Largest down side is thin wall that may hear your neighbors even when they are not loud at all.

Verano Review
Verano is a great apartment complex for students. It is a good price compared to nearby complexes yet is still nice-looking and semi-modern. It is very close to bus stop and not far from campus. There is a lot of sun outside, but not all apartments or rooms may get it indoors. Secure parking garage plus perimeter parking; 3 spots total per apartment. Great amenities: multiple pools, small gym, a cafe, and a big central park. Most apartments have limited green space right outside, but do have balconies for potted plants. Poor ADA accessibility; lots of stairs with no ramps. Most neighbors are student, urban professionals, or young families; there is one really bad neighbor but they are moving soon.
