The Vanguard

The apartment complex is adjacent to the school which makes commuting extremely easy. I love that I am never adjusting my commute according to weather conditions. Plus I always have the option to stay at school late, walk home for meals (to save $$), and sleep in a little later. I also love the proximity to my job prospects: Ada County Court House, Supreme Court, many firms, and more. I can easily roam to network and entertain myself on the weekends by walking to any nearby park, the North End, and more. I also save money on parking because I park in the school's parking lot versus paying $150 through my apartment (FYI the parking lots are the same structure just different floors haha). My building is also close to Main Street Station (bus transit) like a 5 minute walk at most. The close proximity to the bus station is great because as students we get free bus passes which I have used to run errands/get to appointments when I don't have a car.

More about my building and less about the area. I have lived in the same building throughout law school (from August 2022 until post graduation depending on if I move for a job). I began in a studio and moved to my current unit a year later. During my time, the building has always been extremely quiet and I have never ever had a concern about it being too loud to study. Moreover, many other law students have lived in the building at the same time as me and, from my understanding, have also loved it. The building is extremely secure requires key-fob access to every exterior door along with a few interior doors. The building is very clean with a cleaning crew coming in every few days or so. The management is incredibly kind, warm, friendly, and understanding of students; they are always working with me and never against me. I could go on and on about my appreciation for where I live, but I believe the fact that I haven't moved in over two years speaks volumes.
