Constant noise from upstairs in the evenings
We specifically asked if we would hear the upstairs neighbors, that is, how effective between-floor soundproofing is in this building. Marco in the leasing office told us there were no issues whatsoever. However, there was constant noise from upstairs, making it difficult to sleep, and sounding like a troop of restless elephants. It's hard to understand how designers of such a new building could have failed to adequately engineer sound proofing between floors when the technology to do so has been around for a long time. Some apartments have good views, though overall it feels more like living in an office building than a home. The kitchens consist of cabinets & appliances all on one wall, really the worst kitchen layout. The kitchen layout plus plastic-like "wood" flooring gives a cheap feeling to the building, though the rents are some of the highest. Pool is good but crowded, and this building is far from full capacity. Best attribute is nearby parks/lake front & buses to downtown, but other buildings have that too.

High quality finishes throughout building. Amenities are generally not very crowded.

Cascade in downtown
Rent fee is very expensive but worth paying. It is very friendly for children because there are kid’s play room in amenity areas.

New Building, Great Amenities
Cascade is a brand new building in the Lakeshore East area, very close to Lake Michigan and has great views. Since this is a new construction, my partner and I were the first people to live in the apartment which is always a perk. The building is not yet fully complete so there are workers coming in and out pretty much every day, but I haven't had any issues with construction noise or anything like that. Most amenities are already complete and they're amazing: indoor and outdoor pool, music room, screening room, study rooms, a sports simulator, gym, etc. We also moved with two dogs and this is the best area for pets. There's a park with lots of grass area in front of the building, the Lakeshore East dog park is a 5 minute walk, and we're right in front of the lakeshore trail. 15 minute walk from MPP, Mila, and 73E.
