Overall worth the rent
I have enjoyed living at the Artisan quite a bit. The best points about it for me are the parking and the surrounding areas. It is quite safe here, so living alone as a woman isn't an issue for me. Some units also have attached personal garages, which was the main reason I chose this apartment over others! Although it does cost more on top of the rent per month, I don't have to worry about pulling in late at night or defrosting my car. The floorplans are quite spacious, and as a newer property, appliances are updated. The downsides would be the distance and the newness of the property. With traffic, my commute to campus is around 18 minutes. Getting home can sometimes take 1 hour if construction is bad. Overall, if having a spacious floor plan, being in a pretty safe area, and attached garages are big pluses for you, this may be a place to consider!

Very Nice Apartment Complex
I have been living here since summer and so far it has been an incredibly positive experience overall. The Pros: The apartment buildings and appliances are all new, stainless steel (I'm actually the first person to live in my unit.) The apartments are prewired for Metronet internet, which I think is the best choice in Lexington. I feel like the value for the apartment is great. I have a very spacious 2 bed/2 bath with an attached garage. Other properties with similar amenities and no garage had a base rent tag of $1,500. As for the property itself, management has food trucks that come every month and are constantly arranging fun events and community gatherings. Finally, the area is quite safe and I do not feel concerned at all staying here. The Cons: The biggest one is the insulation. A trade-off of being a very new construction means this place was most likely put up fast. The sealing around windows and doors is less than ideal, so you may have inflated electricity bills. I was able to diminish this with some simple foam door seals from Lowe's, however. Another con is distance. It is a bit of a commute, around 18-20 minutes to campus, as well as to any major shopping areas. When traffic is heavy, it can take up to 40 minutes to get back to my apartment from campus. Lastly, these apartments are not furnished and rent does not include utilities. So if you are looking for an apartment where the area is a top concern and are willing to pay a bit more and commute to campus, this may be for you.

The Artisan
The Artisan is absolutely wonderful. It is more of a family/older community so it is very quiet, making the studying environment very appropriate for the task of medical school. There is plenty of parking, a wonderful pool area and gym and also 24-hour security (which gives me great peace of mind). The apartment complex is brand new, just built in 2021 so everything is extremely up to date and in excellent condition. Management is wonderful - always helpful and extremely quick to respond to emails if anything is to come up. The complex is a little further from campus than most students like as it is located in the Leestown area, but at most it takes approximately 15 minutes to get to campus. I would highly recommend checking into the Artisan if attending UKCOM.
