Lynn-Rock

The apartment is a great location for a law student and has worked very well for me for three years, especially since it's so close to campus! Management is very responsive. They installed central air last year which has been an essential upgrade. The biggest downside is no on-site laundry, but there's a laundromat at the end of the street.

Lynn Rock is a nice place that’s walking distance to campus at a reasonable rate with a good management company.
I was especially pleased that they installed central heating and air over the summer — it’s a great amenity and shows that they’re dedicated to keeping up the units.
The big downside is that there’s no washer/dryer in the complex, but there is a convenient laundromat just down the street.

Pros:
-Location/price. I’m really pleased to be within walking distance from school and paying as little as I am; a lot of people who are similarly close are paying double my rent.
-Joiner is an excellent management company, very responsive to my needs and making different processes very easy. I was also very pleased that I was able to advocate for an increase in rent for re-signing my lease that was smaller than they’d initially offered. Which is to say, it’s great to be able to negotiate with them for a better deal.

Cons:
-No onsite laundry, which is a pretty big pain, but mitigated by the laundromat down the street.
-Not many amenities that you’d find at a “luxury” apartment, but as a law student I’m not seeking a lot of frills or time at the apartment, and that would probably increase the price anyway.
-Walls are definitely thin.
-Doesn’t have central heating and air; the individual heating/AC is kind of tough to calibrate.

The only negative is that there is no laundry in unit
