Quiet area, close proximity to campus, friendly management
My roommate (another UCLA Law student) and I have had a great experience in our apartment throughout law school. We live below Wilshire and above Santa Monica Blvd and are a 5-10 minute drive to campus. The area is full of young professionals and families. The building does NOT allow undergraduates. Being close enough to school, but far enough from loud undergrad students was one of our primary motivations for picking this area. The building has tandem parking available in 2 garages, which is really the only "amenity" it provides. There is almost always street parking available, except during pick-up time at the elementary and middle schools across the street. Management is small and communicative. The area is safe, but there have been break-ins into our building in the past. They only recently installed cameras in certain areas. The elevator has broken several times, but the building is only 4 floors.

Great unit, management, neighborhood
My roommate (another 1L) and I absolutely love our apartment. It’s a super spacious 2B2B with almost entirely undated interiors for a great price. 2 separate garages with tandem parking. It’s located about 1-2 miles from UCLA and the law school. The building has other young people and families as tenants, similar to the surrounding neighborhood. Pet friendly. My only complaints are the coin laundry machines in the garage (no washer dryer in unit) and the outdated elevator that has a tendency of breaking down - so I avoid using it. Management is friendly and responsive, but just one guy so at times it may take him a while to fix something we’ve asked for.
