Austin Midtown Apartments reviews and highlights
- older units
- give you more bang for your buck
- love the location
- perfect for young profesisonals
- maintenance is very responsive to requets
- not a lot of storage space
- there is a grocery store across the street
Location is great!
You can't beat the drive if you commute downtown from here. It is far enough away to be affordable & give you more bang for your buck, but it is about a 30 minute commute even in rush hour. The apartments have all been redone inside in the last few years as well, so they are older units but they're nice, which adds to the affordability.

Great location, awesome management!
I have always felt safe and cared for while living in this complex! I love the staff and my neighbors are all friendly. I do wish there was more natural light in my apartment but really, that is not something that can really be changed! Location is great, there are many pets in my complex but I rarely hear them. There is a grocery store across the street in walking distance. We have two pools which are not super rowdy. All in all, this is a great place to live!

Overall Positive
We've dealt with a few issues that likely stem from the complex being a little older (built in the 80s), but management is responsive and usually helpful. Biggest downside is probably how music carries from the downstairs unit. Love the location with so many restaurants nearby though so overall, I'm pleased.

Great location, great management
We've enjoyed life at Austin Midtown for the last 6 months since we moved in! While it doesn't have a crazy amount of amenities outside of an onsite small gym and 2 pools, the management is GREAT (we moved in 6 months ago and they still remember us by name!), and maintenance is very responsive to requests (changing light bulb, broken sink) within a day usually. The only negative is that there is not a lot of storage space - no living room closet and small cupboards, so thinks like Christmas decorations etc are stored in the bedroom closets, and we bought an additional cabinet for kitchen storage. The bedrooms & closets are spacious, though.

"Economical" 1-BR ~12 Miles from DT
It's perfect for the young professional who wants to be as far away from students yet as close to DT ATX as possible. Most Austinites will say it's too far "north", but they're spoiled and overly judge-y; don't listen to them. Your rent shouldn't be more than 1/3 of one month's total earnings, so you've gotta make sacrifices somewhere. Driving a little more either way isn't terrible unless it's peak hours—just like in any big or up and coming city. I'd recommend my apartments to someone who's watching their finances closely but still wants to be part of the action when they've got enough energy.
